I agree with the sentiment strongly.
Lolita's is a dump.
That hasn't really been a main issue for me since over the years, even as it was Alley Cats in Soi 8, there have been some super girls there as well as when the Lolita branch of it in the car park behind Soi Cowboy had.
The issue for me was that the girls treatment was and is a disgrace. For some years now, if ever I have wanted to enjoy a girl from there, I have seen her away from the bar.
The issues of dirt, filth, smell, torn carpets and sticky seats at Lolita's I generously assumed was the management's promotional idea to create an ambiance of a Sukhumvit gutter or a Bangkok sewer for those customers who like it in the raw and dirty.
The truth was and is that they just don't give a f*** about anybody, especially their employees.
The issue of the 4,000 baht barfine at Lolita's entrapped the girls.
The rule to sit in the sun all day was enough to condemn the manager and the mamasan.
And there are countless other aspects to Lolita's that make me hope that the opening of Lollipop forces Lolita's to go under.
Lollipop management know the trade and also the rules of the game. They know that there have been many girls dismissed from SOL for indiscretions and who would have to pay 20,000 baht to the SOL management to start working there again. So, there is another management that stinks although the 400 baht bar-fine at least allows the girls not to feel chained to the bar.
Som/Tuk has worked through the industry and other occupations and has experience both as a worker and a manager. She has marvelous English skills on top of everything else and her personality is warm, jokingly humorous and interesting. She also has compassion and a preparedness to understand. She also knows her customers inside out.
I wish her every success with Lollipop.
If Darlings ( a soapie ) managed their location to rise to the heights of notoriety years ago, the unfit or geriatric who travel by taxi or wheel-chair will find their way to Lollipop. But they are a minority of the trade. And Soi 10 is just fine as a location being between Nana and Soi Cowboy.

Seang did no such thing.
The first factor which started the ball rolling towards Baron's demise was the weight of entries on the internet about the joys available at Baron's, the naming of girls and the sweaty descriptions of oral and anal penetration.
The second factor was that Baron's was practically on the face of the then only prestigous shopping mall in Bangkok, the Hi-So Emporium to which the blue-rinsed brigade flocked with their husbands and children.
Baron's was uncomfortably too close for the clean and upright.
And so the third factor was applied. A BIB sponsored closure because the unofficial raised licence money asked for didn't outweigh the pressure from above, even though the cut was considerable.
Negotiations followed.
At a higher BIB slice of the cake they could re-open if they completely refurbished the place ( a strategy the BIB was to use against SOL when Khun Vichai was around which forced the cut-outs at the bar counter to go.)
But all this time, the internet was being overloaded with entries of services and the reputation of Baron's from years past was singing in the ears of the wives and puritans of the higher orders.
So more pressure was applied to close it.
Some Baron girls went directly to Japan.
Saeng made her choice for the soi 38 location for Tulips.
I remember at the time that guys used to say that no-one in their right minds would go that far.
But look at what happened to it.
Saeng was right.
But there was no coup.
Saeng knew the inside story and the details of the external politically driven pressure to sink Baron's.
She saw it coming years back.
She made the move with friends and partners to form Tulips.
Good on her.
I don't understand the entry which said that there was no other option in Lower Suk besides Lolita's for a bj in a bar. No. In my opinion, Lollipop has it right, regarding location.

I think I said (or meant) there was no other bj bar in lower Suk, as in a McDonald's/Burger King type service. Obviously there's Afterskool, Wild Country, Tina's, etc, but they're a bit different. And there's any massage place, any toilet. But still, not a conventional bj bar (there are ISO standards for such things, I believe  )

One should know that Wild Country is closed. After having recovered today from an early afternoon session at SOL with Aen, Piang and Mee, and a conversation with them about Lollipop, I went to give it a try.
