I reckon it must be a couple of months since Khun T*k was told that she could no longer work there.
But other ladies have been found to have done wrong before and been asked to leave the job and always after a while, when things have cooled down on both sides, the mamasan has allowed them to return to work.
So, I think by now, it may be only a matter of time before we might find Khun T*k back in the fold at the Star of Light. She's certainly not working anywhere else and when I called her, she wasn't keen to go out from her room. Maybe she's just still upset about the whole thing.
But the mamasan is caring. She's wont tolerate wrong-doings and is strict with the girls, but as a manager, you have to be, otherwise things start to slide sideways.
I hope the issue will be resolved soon and Khun T*k will have the good grace to call the mamamsan to ask for her job back. I certainly miss her. Hopefully the mamasan will speak with her soon and then all Khun T*k's appreciators will be happy.

Well, there are some interesting ideas expressed here. Having had managerial experience both in the US and here in Thailand (both over expats and Thais), and attended workshops in both places, etc; yes, as mentioned, there are major differences.
In regards to K.Lak the boss, I'll have to think about her respective skills. Perhaps I have judged her previously from my own standpoint instead of hers. And perhaps this was done more from my own feeling of wanting to give the girls every advantage possible, than her relative merits. Some of the policies there certainly seem unfair. And maybe she has made mistakes, as well; after all, she took the bossing job under difficult circumstances and has probably been learning more about management in the last couple years than she ever dreamed possible.
At this point, not having discussed it with either Tuk or her, I think it is in the nature of her boss "face" not to approach an employee she has previously let go (for whatever reason). However, I like Cunnilingual's idea of externally pressurizing her, by asking after Tuk. Go on, guys...!

I had 'Catsound' on her first day on the job. Ja*e was in with us and instructed her what to do in a rahter bored and seen it all before way. Was a strange experience being the student model or guinea pig!

I was under the impression that it was more to do with them providing us with an inlet or two ( or if you're lucky, 3 ).
And yes, I agree, that the learnng curve of management, partcularly on her own after her husband's death, must have been steep for the mamasan Khun Lak and gruelling at times. But she's doing very well and sticking to her guns.
The girls know this and respect her for it. And that's why the bar hasn't gone down.

As has been stated elsewhere, the Star of Light is one of the few bars in Bangkok where there is zero-tolerance to drug-taking.
I think this has been mentioned in the same posting as Khun T*k's having to leave the bar.
But I have to say here, that the two issues are completely unrelated points, in as much as Khun T*k would never have anything to do with drugs, never has and never will. She's seen too many times in her life how they can ruin a person's life and bring misery to all around, especially in communities where people live in and out of one another's pockets, both here in Bangkok and in the villages.
This is one of the main reasons why she has found it so difficult to find another place to work. She refuses to work in a place where the other girls take drugs, knowing that if she is the only one not indulging, that this can lead to many problems emerging, not least of all the issues resulting from a lack of trust.
As for the ladies mentioned in the two previous posts by my arch-rivals, the illustrious seajohn and the ever genitally-oriented alice, how could you have spoilt those nice young ladies by going with them. They were going with me.
But yes, I agree.
There are some delectable and delicious ladies and wet mouths still awaiting our members at the Star of Light in this After T*k ( hopefully short ) era.
And Khun L*t ( or as I would have her, front and doggie, Khun R*t is a bundle of fun and a very nice person to boot, and without the boots on.

Hmmm, I'm in Canada now, unfortunately (but I'll pm you guys for khun Tuk's number as soon as I can make it back to Bangkok).....
but I did live and work in Thailand for a few years and while I respect the fact that it's their country and they have a right to do things their own way, frankly I find their style of "management", if what they do is even worth that term, pretty pathetic....
the whole obsessions of Thais with seniority, and "face", just basically makes any otherwise universally accepted concept such as efficiency or logical thinking near impossible in the land of smiles....
I don't really know SOL's mamasan, and even Khun Tuk, sadly, I only met a few times, so there's not much I can say about what really happened between them.....
still anything I know about Khun Tuk and Thai "managerial" standards make me think that this is just another case of so called managers putting some personal feelings or grudges, probably hardly reasonable to begin with, ahead of business or even common sense.....
I think khun Tuk will be a very successful freelancer, and better off financially because of it....
I hope SOL keeps doing well also, and I can certainly applaud their no-drugs policy, but losing their star doesn't seem like a good sign to me...

this place has gone downhill since the owner died
I travelled all they way there from Aree today & was basically refused service
granted it was early at only 10:20
I went inside & put down my bag, ordered a beer then went outside to make a selection since no one bothered to follow me inside
I should have called little miss Nok in advance & her her greet me there, but I assumed she might already be there
they are all fat now
