With ref to previous post re time spent before spending in BJBs. I couldnt wait to get 'tuk'ed into the fare at Lolita's 2 trips ago but lack of AC, the general dirtiness and being bitten alive by mossies (let alone Ms Golden Fang) hurried up my sorry carcass no end.
I was in, out and shaking it all about quick sharp.
I couldn't wait to be out of that dump in the smelly soi nr the stench from the sewer. It was an improvement on being upstairs inside Lolita's.

I don't know why they can't clean the upstairs at Lolita's. Or manage to do simple things like fix the aircon/bring in fans, or even change light-bulbs. A few times I was in there and the girl would point at a light bulb in a booth that was out and had been out for days, thus rendering the booth unusable. So what do managers actually do? They can't even get a new light-bulb, stand on a chair and change it! After the girl said this one time, I saw a stack of light bulbs nearby, got one and changed it. Otherwise they'd have left it like that!
Back to important matters. Has SoL been affected by the red shirts and soldiers at Silom? Is there still service in-house?

Any word on this? I heard that they're still open but they're nervous about service in house and are putting time limits in place.
Joe Wood, I would have expected you to be our intrepid fellatio/war correspondent, reporting the bj situation minute by minute, dodging bullets in the background, helmet on head (and, a bit later, in head), like a monger's John Simpson.

Yes, soldiers abounded last night all along the soi, but no flying bullets, my helmet where it should have been, no interruption of service and of course the uniform for SOL yesterday was red, so confusion abounded too, just to perpetuate the pattern across the city.
I had travelled from one of my emergency relief forages at soi 22 where there were no soldiers nor police, just friendly girls.
As I passed the red encampment that is intent on hurting its own people and country, no sight of swaztika red head-bands since they all must have been drinking or gone home to mama for the night but there was a public address system blaring out to the remaining wild-life and the occasional hooker mascarading as a street cleaner around Lumpini Park.
No lines of troops or police confronting the wall of car tyres and bamboo shoots. The remaining few of them had made their way nearer to the music in Silom and Surriwonge.
So, all in all, SOL sucks on, happily.

Thank you very much Joe for that journal from beyond the enemy line.
I have to travel to bkk on the coming 28th and have booked a room in my regular hotel which is very close to SOL (no coincidence). I hope things will settle down soon. My chat mate informs that they had to relocate from Pantip to Ladprao just to be safe.
Glad to know that the ladies of SOL are daringly continuing their work, providing relief to the needy ones. It would be a terrible waste if I couldnt avail their services when I am there.

Went to sol sunday around 3pm, many soldiers and guns.
there as no bus, girls were bored and lazzy.. picked up my regular who was 19 when she first got there, now 23, beauiful rack, slim bar fineded her. wanted her 1500b, tries for 1000 no luck.. you would think they would give a break in these hard times..

haha, nice try, but unfortunately Thai business logic says "RAISE prices when things are slow"...that way you at least get as much as you can out of the few customers you do get.

yeah, or the few remaining customers tell you to go f*** yourself (we are not speaking of essential services here, and providers are not scarce) and your business go bust...
But despite what dictionnary say about Thai language,
"kaodjai" mean something like "f*** you" and "tamgan" mean "not sleeping, look I move"
