Suk Plaza closes tonight... end of an era, albeit a short one. Lolita's will exit with the others, but (as posted earlier) the business will relocate to Alley Cats on Soi 8 and will operate under the Lolita's name. Shane has improved the infrastructure there; both ground floor and first floor have been reconfigured and cleaned up to accomodate the larger number of staff and (anticipated) increased volume of customers. (The first floor is now set up with couches and curtains like the old joint).
The new venue is more attractive than either of it's ancestors, with the exception of the parking. Opening hours will be moved forward to 10am from Jan 1.

The next "bar beer plaza" has not emerged yet, as far as I know. Some of the Suk places will probably migrate to wherever they can find cheap digs... others will fold. We've seen Clinton Plaza squeezed out, Soi 10 bulldozed out, Suk Plaza Subwaid out... all in the past 3 years. Where will the next grouping spring up? Stay tuned to these pages to find out....

The closest is probably Soi 22, where some of the bars and staff will migrate.
Actually not a lot of space left there. Some bar owners are looking in the directon Pattaya / Jomtien.
Are all bars closed as of 31 Dec? Some owners said they will either sit out their contract and that legal matters are pursued.

RIP Lolitas only ever been once and a great time I had as well............. I will never forget those words after I ordered a beer "Would you like a BJ"............. pure heaven............ god I did not realise the area would be close so soon........... Are all the bars going right up to Soi23?

There are quite a few bars up for sale on Soi22, I bet they get snapped up quickly and the prices go up, shame as I was in discussions with an english guy I know to buy half a one................

All the bars in the triangle soi 23 - Asoke - Sukhumvit are going to be affected.
Last week I was in Soi 22 and didn't see a lot of bars for sale. Probably the current owners see the 'goldrush' coming. But then again, maybe if the Asoke Plaza saga has ended, the tourist season will be over.
Also many girls are excited about the closure. More customers for them. I doubt that, because bars will 'employ' (no salary) more girls as there will be more girls very soon looking for a place to ply their trade.
So more competition.

Yes some of the bars that I know are up for sale do not advertise the fact, and I am refering to the bars where we meet up for a drink last time we meet up.......
I am not sure if the prices have gone up but the ones I know about seemed to be good value, but only if you just wanted to cover your expenses etc, def never going to get rich, but should cover some living expenses..........
