Oldhand,
I joined this board in late January of this year and have been a very infrequent poster. ÝThis is my 13th post. ÝThe reason I do not post much is very simple - I do not have much to say. ÝI am not very bright but am intelligent enough not to fall into the trap of "constipation of the brain, diarrhea of the pen (keyboard)."
The main reason I joined this board is to get as much info as possible on all aspects of living in LOS before I decide on whether I should move there. ÝIMO, Sauron and MrJoe's posts are invaluable (very informative and balanced). ÝThus my decision will be based, to some extent, on the real oldhands' experiences and opinions. ÝYes, I am a leech (temporarily).
I am puzzled by your messages because:
(1) your sarcastic and condescending comments on this thread have been totally unprovoked; (2) why would someone who claims "I have done very well and can afford all that life has and will offer in my remaing years, have many Thai/Foreign Ýfriends and associates" be inclined to post sarcastic and condescending messages? ÝHappy and successful people are unlikely to diss other people for fun.
BTW, if I do move to LOS I will not run a bar or moonshine plant but try to teach (gratis) at one of the universities (I think I am well qualified - publications, awards, etc.). ÝI am not qualified, however, to pass judgments on people who run bars, etc. ÝIMO, as long as they do not force the girls to work there and treat them well, it is "up to the girls". ÝIn fact, there are orders-of-magnitude Ýmore REAL whores (male and female) in corporations than in all bars, MPs, etc in LOS. ÝIn my experience most BGs have a better understanding of the concept of 'honor' than an average CEO of a major corporation (worldwide).
