Joe Paterno, I remember him from his time as the Seattle Sea Hawks head coach, was a real old school football coach.
He waited until after the season ended (even though he was out before it ended over a scandal) before he died.
He was really a great winning college coach that tried the NFL, but didn't belong there. It was a loss of Penn.

Who are you talking about?
Paterno was employed by Penn State for 62 years and as the head coach for 46 years. He was never a coach in the NFL or Seattle.
I expect the timing of his death had little to do with him waiting for the season to end.

Joe Paterno died a month ago, his wife just didn't notify the proper authorities.
His football program touched a lot of young people.
Penn state better not have a "moment of silence" for Joe Paterno. That's what got him in trouble in the first place.
