A few months ago, I ventured into Suzie Wongs to watch one of their highly enjoyable shows, but was turned off by the fact that I was shortchanged by exactly 100 baht when I paid my bill. After pointing this out, I received the missing baht and chalked it up as an accident. However, I just went there tonight and had the exact same thing happen.
I paid with 1000 baht and received 120 baht change instead of the 220 due to me. Therefore, since it was exactly 100 baht both times, I am forced to draw the conclusion they are intentionally cheating customers, assuming they are too drunk to realize the difference.
As much as I like the bar, I will not be going back again. Any place that intentionally cheats good customers out of money does not deserve my business. So, this is just a warning to let the buyer beware!

The 100 baht scam is an oldie but a goodie. When you tell them the change is incorrect, they are back with your 100 baht in 20 seconds, way too quick for it to be an honest mistake. When there is a genuine error by the cashier, it takes 5-10 minutes of counting, re-counting to check that indeed they did accidentally short change you. The reason they only take 100 baht is that a lot of punters will either not notice or not care/can't be bothered/too pissed. It does tend to happed again and again in the same bar. I reckon you should have a word with the mamasan cos it's probably a deal between cashier and the girls so someone should get fired.

Yes, I fully agree with that.
Same goes for the opposite... when they give you too much change back, you point to them that there is one note too much and it takes them 5 minutes to realise they made a mistake.
Happened to me in Subway Huahin... lady gave me back 20 baht too much and I told her, she called her friend to explain the situation and both were adamant that I have been given the correct amount....
I tried (in vain) to explain that 200baht paid for 180 thb bill is not 40 change but 20. Waste of Breath. TG logic came into play and both girls tried to prove me they were right... I apologised and told them that they were indeed correct and that I was stupid. They gained face and smiled... well, not for long, they probably cried when they counted the cash at the end of their shift...

I love it when they give you too much change. I always point out their error and give them the money back and then you are a god every time you go back in.
The old bird that runs the popular Thai restaurant in soi 14 accidentally gave me a 1,000 baht tip for dining at her place. When I pointed out her mistake, she told the entire restaurant what an honest bloke I was. Even got her husband out of the shower to point me out.

I have been a Wong Monger for years and thru many management changes not to mention lady changes but last week had a first time experience that was not to my liking.

I told the dancer seated there that the air was 'men' of which she didn't seem to give a crap. One of the 'supervisiors' walked over and asked if I wanted a drink and I told her the place stunk as well. I got the look of "yeah, so what do you expect?"
I got up and walked over and stood near the door waiting for the show to finish and one of the 'supervisors' walked up to me and told me to leave! Not 2 seconds after she said that, one of the doormen tapped me on the shoulder and told me to leave as well. I thought for a split second about saying something but decided just as quickly not to and walked out.
Ok, I really don't know anyone in there anymore and the last few times I was in the joint, none of the girls were interested to walk over say hello or engage in the usual banter looking for drinks. Maybe they have a house rule about standing near the door during the show without buying a drink. Or maybe they have just become real dickheads there. Or maybe several employees were having a really bad night.
In any event, I will go back to watch the show from time to time but will always bring my own 'sanook' as there isn't any to be had from the staff these days. If any one here knows the owner, tell him he needs to get the entire 'supervisory' staff a personality transplant and his business will double. Then get some new girls that want to have fun with customers and business will triple- both with or without the lesbian show.

Very interesting story... but in all fairness, I don't see any means to incriminate the bar. Look at it from the Staff's perspective: what did they see? a Farang that wanted to treat himself to free show in their bar. If you had ordered a drink, it would have been a different story.
you know how this works... how many Farangs do they get per night that try to sneak in there and Peek at the shows?
I don't think they had anything against you, just that if you want to enjoy the show, you gotta buy a drink, simple, as they do not make you pay a cover charge.
