I had waitresses help me on that three times last trip: I’d order a cola and get soda water, instead. I don’t even like water, and predictably the addition of bubbles doesn’t help, so I can make the drink last DAYS. So to add to The Duck’s suggestion, I’ll say, “Order something your really hate.”
I’ve never tried the beer bar scene. For one thing, I don’t drink beer. Is this a felony there? Also, I like to get a pretty good look at the goods before I buy: Amazing what even minimal clothing can disguise or hide. I mean, when doing the doggy, I don’t want to find myself gazing at a tattoo of Justin Bieber’s face on her ass. The philosophical question of, “Is it manly to shoot a load in Bieber’s face?” would definitely detract from the ecstasy of the moment, though this would be the ideal time to slap the shit out of him.
I certainly agree about rotating the stock on stage. Not only does it give you a chance to see more dancers, but you can check for unfortunate ass ink. Ironic that the only place that I noticed doing this, Tilac (I think… the place with two doors onto Soi Cowboy), has a better stage arrangement to start out with, sort of a cruciform thing, plus the satellite stages.

Tilac also seemed to have a decent shift routine. At least the set of girls on each arm of the stage would seem to rotate 1 arm at least once during their on stage stints. So while a candidate might not make it to the arm closest to you, at least you got some view of her...

And DC-10 has the absolute best type of "shift": you like a girl, you call her down while she's in the middle of dancing, and SHE COMES DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND SITS WITH YOU.
I mean, f***ing duh, this is how it always should be (one assumes, of course, you will then buy her a drink...which in DC-10, can get you QUITE a lot!). I'm not sure, but I think Spanky's now has this enlightened policy as well.
