Soi Cowboy Shark Bar Girl Salaries
I was talking with one of the girls from the Shark bar this week and got the following information:
Dancing Girls:
Salary - 10,000bt/month. They must get at least 60 lady drinks and 12 barfines to get their full salary. They must "clock in" (report for work) by 6:30pm, otherwise they are docked 2bt per minute. For each lady drink under 60 their salary is docked 20bt. Forgot to ask about barfines.
For each lady drink they receive they get 50bt (raised from 40bt recently). They are paid for this at the end of every night. The barfine is 600bt, but they get none of this - Shark bar keeps the whole 600bt. They keep any "tips" given to them.
There are about 100 girls on a given night (and the quality is quite high right now). Typically 2 shifts of girls on the stage at street level and 1 shift upstairs.
Service Girls:
Salary - 4,000bt/month. They must get at least 30 lady drinks to get their full salary. No barfines required (although some if not all of them are barfineable). They must "clock in" by 5:30pm. Same penalty structure.
Same as Dancing Girls for tips, lady drink and barfine money. However, they also share the "tip" money that is left in the tray. This is often 200-300bt every night per service girl.
Was told on "typical" Friday-Saturday nights there are over 100 barfines a night. Since Shark keeps all the barfine money they do well. Many of the girls are barfined multiple times a night.
As a result, most of the girls insist on ST only. Typically they request 2,500bt (but often you can negotiate down to 2,000bt or even lower depending). LT, if it is on the menu, usually starts at 3,000bt and up depending on the girl and the punter.
There is an interesting anomaly between Dancing and Service Girls as far as barfines. If a Dancing Girl is barfined ST then she has the option (often exercised) to return to Shark in hopes of getting barfined again. If a Service Girl is barfined then she DOES NOT have the option of returning to Shark that night. AND, she does not share in the "tip" money that night. I was told this was because Dancing Girls do not want to compete with Service Girls for barfines (since they need at least 12 every month and Service Girls need none).
It is not unusual for a Service Girl to get 10 lady drinks in a night. And, several of them average more than 100 lady drinks a month. The numbers for Dancing Girls are higher.
As mentioned above, the quality of the girls at Shark is high right now. I enjoyed myself there and plan to return soon. Got tired of Baccara, and the prices are lower.

IMHO Shark bar has consistently had a top 5 line-up on Cowboy for at least the past three years. Place is busy most of the time, and they have not had to resort to any kind of gimmick to keep it busy. Pretty simple formula – lots of decent looking birds.
I have never had a problem getting a lady to go LT or had any complaints about paying 1500-2000 baht for the LT.
That being said I know a bird that recently moved over to shark from another bar on Cowboy and she pretty consistently pulls 2-3 ST’s on Fri/Sat – so there are plenty of them that have that ST seek and destroy mentality.

I think some punters are better than others at getting lower rates.
And, especially towards the end of the month some girls might be "hungry" for that extra barfine to avoid salary penalties.
Nevertheless, one of the great variables is LT rates. Remember, I only talked to 1 girl, I didn't take a sample.
BK - there are some pretty decent looking service girls right now as well......

I've always enjoyed Shark bar,, nice gals, relaxed atmosphere and always on ash-tray supplied ( ROFLMAO)
Best I ever did was 2k LT, I was offered 1k LT and I can " do anything I want ", but she was obviously under the influence of yaa ba, so I passed.

I just learned a new word: Abulia... It seems I suffer from abulia, and can become completely abulic when I'm sitting in Shark Bar, as happened again this evening.
Abulia is dictionary.com's Word of the Day for April 13, 2008:
abulia \uh-BOO-lee-uh
Loss or impairment of the ability to act or to make decisions.
Numerous girls dancing in Shark are so stunning that my abulia gets in the way, and I just sit there in visual rapture, unable to choose any one girl. Numerous other customers looked to be as abulic as me. Is this a common problem?

I think I have it too  . Was there last night with my girlfriend (who's hot too) and it was so hard not to be too obvious about my interests. There were a lot of nice babes to look at / drool over.
I'm truly impressed with Shark and it's easily my favorite bar now. Went to several other bars afterward and although some were ok, it was all downhill from Shark.
