Continuing our bar hopping, tonight we dropped by Tilac. We got there about 9:20pm and it was hard to find a seat. It was very busy, much busier than any of the other places we hit this week.
We got the last 2 "good seats", sofa around the outside with good backrest on the wall with the toilet entrance (yes, that toilet, that has the see-through window so you don't miss the action).
I was in Tilac about 2 years ago, soon after it got remodeled. Seemed about the same. Probably about 60 girls in 4 sets dancing. There are also "pole tables", 3 on each side, where the girls dance as well.
Coke was 85bt. LDs were 100bt. BF 600bt. We heard one negotiation where the girl asked for 3,000bt, but we don't know if LT or ST - in any case she didn't close the deal.
Some interesting numbers were #52 (cute but MAYBE 19 years old), #182 (seemed a lot of fun), and #17 (tallest girl I saw and the only one wearing glasses). KB liked #50, more Issan looking.
Kind of weird dynamics in Tilac this night. 9:20pm crowded. 10:30pm almost empty. 11pm about 1/2 full.
We really weren't bothered much for LDs. An occasional girl dropped by, but they weren't pushy.
There were 3 Asian guys (Japanese?) sitting on the wall with us. They got #182 over and, for 2 LDs, tried to undress her right there. Not very cool behavior. Now, I've seen RTB get a lot for 1 LD, but he was never crude and always had the girl laughing. At least when they left 1 of them tipped her 100bt.
Most of the servers wore Country Roads t-shirts. I gather the same owner for both places. And, Penalty Spot (Soi 29) coasters.
Seemed to be a reasonable number of BFs. Some shifts of girls dancing were down from about 13-14 to 9.
Overall quality of the girls were not as good as Shark - probably similar to Baccara (although as noted there were some chubby ones). Of course, YMMV.
We had fun in Tilac for not a lot of money.
Afterward, we tried the German Sausage from the cart outside of Country Roads. Pretty decent.
Edit In: forgot to mention that there was no smoking and no ashtrays. In fact, the signs pointing out the 2,000bt and 20,000bt fines for smoking were still prominent in the toilet.
Also, all the dancers wore short polka-dot mini-skirts and athletic-supporter type bras. Quiet attractive, although showing less than other bars. Possibly accounts for the 100bt LD prices.

The Return to Tilac.
I met up with Koolbreeze and NYMICK at the Old Dutch. October69 (whose a long time lurker) joined us. After intros and drinks we decided to return to Tilac Bar.
At Tilac we met a fried of O69's named Jerry. Turns out Jerry lived in San Francisco for years and I was across the Bay. Small world. Nice guy.
O69 shared a secret with us. At Tilac drinks (at least beer and sodas) are 70bt during happy hour, which is until 9pm. But, if you "pre-buy" your drinks you are given chits to turn in for the happy hour price. So, instead of paying 120bt (I think) for beer after 9pm it is still the 70bt price. Good deal for you (if you were going to stay and buy the drinks anyway) and good deal for Tilac (you've paid for drinks and will probably stay longer). Very smart of Tilac.
I forgot to mention that sometimes in the toilet there is an attendant turning on your water, giving you paper towels, and expecting a tip. I just hate that. I can turn on my own water and get my own paper towels - thank you. At least he didn't try and give me a back rub...
I was also completely oblivious to the fact that the girls dance with no panties. On the earlier trip we sat at the back. This time we sat on the side at one of the tables that has the dancing pole. When a girl is dancing 12 inches from your face you tend to see more. So you get a chance to window shop before you "rent".
NYMICK met the girl of his dreams (or at least of the night) while she was on stage. We didn't see anything special about her on the stage, but the closer she got the better she looked. At the table it was pretty clear that NYMICK had scored big time - she was really cute. They left soon after.
A bit later O69 & Jerry decided to visit Thermae. KB and I stayed. I just knew that, now that there was an empty seat, the ugliest girl at Tilac would come and pester me. She did, and KB agreed with my assessment. I tried to be polite, but she was desperate. So, I found the cutest unattached girl and made eye contact.
That did the trick. I traded the ugliest one there (no number, I don't want to make trouble for her, she was only working) for the cutest one. #165, who, as she got closer got cuter and cuter. 25, no kids, working at Tilac for 7 months, whose mother thinks she is working at 7/11 (yeah, right). Big dragon tattoo on her back (of course mother knows nothing). Sprang for a LD (she completely understood that she had rescued me).
After a bit she asked if I was going to BF her. I told her no, that I don't BF, and if she wanted to go look for another customer that was fine with me. She thanked me and took off. If I had insisted she would have stayed - but I know why she is working there and didn't want to stand in her way of $$$.

Agreed. I understand he's just trying to make a baht, but think management is misguided in providing that job. Plus, given the toilet is not all that big, just takes up space. I've been in there when it's felt like one of those chinese puzzles, you know, 16 spaces and 15 tiles,...

I know my first time there, I hadn't. Some attractive girls in not bad outfits, but nothing special.
Couple of days later, returned. Talking to a girl who'd come over to take a break next to me, she commented about my beard. I said "same same you". She touched her chin, saying "no"; I replied "not there, downstairs." She just grinned, said "no" again, and flipped up her skirt so I could verify.
Pleasant surprise, looked around, NOW realizing all dancers similarly (non) attired. Talk about feeling dumb.

Nice of you. I do the same, telling the girl she'll just loose time. Those that I do enjoy, I'll spring for a LD for her company, but let her know that I'll be departing solo. Given I'm there at an early hour, they're mostly bored and will sit and chat, trying to convince me of the error of my ways 
My experience there, the dancers were not pushy for lady drinks (well, a few exceptions), but would sit with you waiting for you to offer. And if they were going to order something "extra" (as in a shooter), they would ask first. Never experienced any "double dippers" (drink + cola) that others have experienced in other bars.
Myself, I liked the place, except for the music playing most nights. And their "nam-a-now" (lime juice) fresh rather than "canned".

I had a soi cowboy tour last night. The Big lady at "Old Dutch", were I had a beer to get the overview first, gave me excellent advise on the various profiles. Went to Sharks first, Baccara second. I remembered my good old days when I was in Manila and the way the grils tried to stand out on the go go stands - they did weird things. They kind of dancing I saw in the mentioned bars... well, if the girls have the same temper when having sex, then self masturbation is king.
However, In baccara I did not notice that I used a 1000 baht note instead of a 100. The cashier girl made me aware of that. I was impressed.
Later on I went to TILAC, was there two years ago. This time it was more alive. somehow I got in the mood which ended considering a girl to take away. Virgins are pretty rare in there, but the girl that came with me was not that far away from that. Inexperienced in almost anthing. I could sense she felt miserable and let me do what I thought was right. I felt sorry for her. Then I had to explaning the difference between ST and LT to her, she had a different perception and did not speak English at all, except "I want sleep home". So I politely brought her to the taxi. Another night beyond expectations.

responding to retiredintahoe's post YES!! She was an absolute cutie and a fun ST. My only compalint was that she was a little too insistent on going to the ST hotel in Cowboy which I reluctantly agreed to. All my favorite action was available for me--dfk, bbbj including her own self pleasure during the moment and plenty of positions and noise. It ended up costing her though beacuse I never bring alot of cash with me so with the 450baht room charge she only got 1500 from me. And though she wasn't all that happy about it she didn't make a scene and gave me her name, phone # and email with the promise of my hotel next time. Didn't grab her again but highly recommended.
