Long ago in one of the RTs we booked the private room above Midnite Bar and barfined half a dozen girls from the bar to join us. We had great fun playing pool and if I recall there was some DATY action on the pool table too!

A new pool bar is opening this week. They are having a soft-opening on Wednesday. It's called Super Cue. It's located on the 2nd level of Union Tower on New Petchburi Road (near the Thonglor intersection). They have 4 x 9 ft Metro tables. I hear that they will be able to open 24 hours, so you can now play pool all day and night, finally!

BK, thanks for your pool in Bangkok updates; Super Cue is on my to-do list for sure. If it's a good venue, I like to become known early on.
I've played for "free" (++ drinks) several times at Country Roads, above soi 5. It's a good venue for sure. There are three excellent pool tables, and a bunch of coin-ops. House cues are marginally acceptable. No shortage of Thai ladies to play with, and if you are too good for them, a couple of Thai guys are ready, willing and able to take you on. I've had some good pool sessions there, in the afternoon, before the band starts up very early in the evening.
Last Sunday evening in Country Roads, I had to remind the dek-serve lady that pool is indeed free on Sundays. To her credit, she apologized profusely for forgetting this major reason why I had come to her bar on Sunday. OK, no problem, baby...
Smoking is (illegally) allowed in Country Roads, tho in their free afternoon hours, this is not yet much of a problem for us beleaguered non-smokers.
Smoking is also (illegally) allowed now in Players (Sukhumvit between sois 12 and 14). As a non-smoker, allergic to cigarette smoke, this really upset me. Players last year was smoke-free. They even built a nice outdoor smoking area, complete with TV, to keep the smokers happy. This was working well, I thought. So I was shocked to learn that smoking in Players is now "OK".
Hustlers, on the ground floor of Times Square building, on Sukhumvit, a two-minute walk west of smoky Players, has been my favorite pool venue in Bangkok for more than a year.
With half-price pool on weekdays until 5 pm., a quiet, smoke-free atmosphere, low-volume music, few customers, great tables, some lovely pool girls, and sports on the tubes, Hustlers in afternoons is, IMHO, a wonderful place to shoot pool.

Sports Academy is some free as well. Though I am not sure if they have any "happy hour" pricing for the pool tables.
The owner of Super Cue, Allan, is planning some tournaments, and he mentioned that he'll get some Filipino and Taiwanese plays to join in. You may see Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Wu Chia Ching, etc.

Seriously, can the 400 baht spending that is required to participate include a couple of lady drinks so that a couple of cuties can cheer me on? I'm free this Saturday. What time is the Killer Challenge?

Red Shirt Movement coming from Ladprao, Ramkhaengpang, Ratchadapisek and will hit Petchburi rd later before going to Asoke and Sukhumvit. Kiiller challenge might have to be cancel depending on the siutations later. Will update later. But we are still open for business as usual.
