Where are they keeping them away from the front of Nana? There were still plenty of LBs at the entrance of Nana, every time I was there.

As for NP with all the bars outside who the hell would want to live in an appartment there, as for shopping malls already too many. The outside of soi 4 is already looking like a soi in pattaya the hotels in the area also expect income I expect more bars to appear whatever happens to NP.

They've owned that land for a very long time and are an affluent Indian family that probably knows very well what they're doing.

If it was an apartment building, I'd rent there, provided it was good value for money.
Hell, I lived right beside of Queen's Park Plaza on Suk. Soi 22.

That's the impression I'm getting.

They might be able to sell the property for a large amount of money (mind you, with it being weighed down by 9 year leases), but whatever gains they think they might have made would be partially erased by having to pay off the debt of the property. For sure, no one of the present owners will be losing money, or suffering losses over any possible sale - though whoever buys it might end up suffering the same fate as most recent new owners of vastly overpriced bars.

The Iranian in Soi Cowboy seems much smarter in that regard.

I arrived at Majestic Suites this weekend. The "Cinemascope" and "Only Double Carousel in Asia" neon is missing.... I've spent hours wondering about the history of the Cinemascope sign.

They are, but don't confuse "new" with never being in the business before. They are not new to the whole owning commercial land a bar complex sits on thing, they are only new in terms of not having owned the land NANA Plaza sits on before.

Current bar owners inside the NANA complex, with new leases to contend with are seeing the need now to clean up the place so customers aren't put off by the old drab rundown look of the past. No need to clean things up before given the rediculouusly low rents they had.

Imagine having a $1.4millionUS valued bar, and turning $120,000US a month in revenue, then having a rent of only $2000US a month total. It is a gold mine, and the new lease doesn't affect the property that bad financially. The only thing customers are seeing is a bt10 increase in prices(not unreasonable), and a remodel to clean things up.

And then it might be foolish to think the Indian families sold the land to someone outside of the families.
