I've been looking (not long) for a thread about those Japanese KTV clubs off of patpong (Pink Soda, Honey Club, etc.). Is sex guaranteed at those places, or is it like a Korean room salon or G-Club (where you have to work it a bit) ? Info appreciated. Seen some really nice girls on Gdairy and thinking about heading over.

It is more like G-club, However, once you get familiar with the scene is quite easy to get whoever u want. Personally, I like the Japanese club around thonglor better than the one in thaniya.

There are several big Japanese only club on thonglo soi 23, not too far from Y50 and tuba. I was there about 2-3 years ago, the quantity and quality is better than thaniya however still just average by bkk standard.

Pink soda is in soi Japan/soi thaniya
like a few dozens/hundreds others
The other area where you can find many is around soi 33, Thonglor, Ekamai.
All Japanese clubs -> sex is guaranteed (or almost, the girls having of course the possibility to refuse a customer)
Pink soda is one of the most recent ones.
A word about the J clubs.
Don't let KTV/cocktail loung/Karaoke names fool you, they are all basically the same.
You usually have a reception area where you can also find the girls.
Then you have VIP/private rooms where the fun happens.
Usual way of doing things.
You chose a few girls, rent a VIP room and then use it to select the girl who will go with you (if one picks your interest of course, if not then just ask for more girls).
Basically the VIP room is to play with the girls and make sure you find one you like.
Then off you go to a ST hotel.
Notice: If you are farang (not of Asian descent) then I would advise you to wear some decent clothes to make sure the staff will not make problems to let you enter.
A word about prices.
You pay:
- your drink: Either a flat rate per hour (about 600-800 bht, some places are all you can drink, others give you 3 glasses etc...)
I prefer to buy a bottle -> black label is around 1200-1400 bht, mixers around 200-400 bht.
They keep the bottle if you didn't finish it.
- VIP room: Depending on the place, anywhere between 500-1000 bht
- Ladydrinks = girl's time -> around 150-200 bht, no need to pay a LD every 10 minutes though
- Miscellaneous: Fruits, snacks etc...don't refuse as Japanese customers wouldn't (200-300 bht)
- barfine: 1000-2000 bht
- Girl's fee: ST: on average between 2500-3500
LT: Add 1K-2K
most Japanese customers only go ST
If you are looking for good quality Japanese clubs, last time I visited I could recommend, Arcadia (huge choice), Pink soda -> quite new, sala siam
Average quality of Japanese clubs is not higher than a good gogo (rainbow bars come to my mind) but you easily find some gems (9-10 and I can be picky)
J clubs are more expensive than your average gogo or soi 33 bar but you are respected and treated as the customer.
No scam, no ST lasting 10 minutes, no pushy staff for LD...
My personal top list (having visited not far from 70% of J clubs)
- Arcadia: For its huge choice
- Sala siam: Quite new so fresh blood
- Pink soda: New = fresh blood and they got some of the best girls of other less successful clubs
- playgirls: The maid outfits and other customes are nice, big choice too
- Special club (not to be mistaken with "special") : Noticeable for its influx of "newbie" 18-19 years old girls -> not my cup of tea though
A new club opened on sukhumvit soi 23 Young Place Building: will have to visit soon as the staff seems to have some very nice girls

Pardon me for asking what may be considered a personal question, are you Asian? My understanding was if you were not Asian then you had to be a guest or with an Asian to get into these Clubs. So me a Farang could enter these clubs alone and barfine a lady if I was properly dressed. Is it a problem if you only speak English and limited Thai? Would all the ladies be receptive to going with a farang?

Gdiary + raku2.tv websites (in Japanese of course but easy to navigate) list all the available Japanese places and are up to date.
Some of the places listed have some photos of their staff (not all the staff of course).
I look Asian (born in South Korea but adopted) but my culture and education is fully European.
I speak very limited Japanese, just the basics but never used Japanese to enter a Japanese club.
Being well dressed should allow you to enter all places.
About the girls and "farang"?
You will be a bit like "the local curiosity"...not speaking Japanese is of course not a problem as most of the girls don't speak more Japanese than me.
Many girls never went with a farang before.
Like everywhere in LOS, the more you speak Thai the better it is.
Don't expect girls to speak English/Japanese beyond the basics, this said, the purpose of these clubs is not about cultural chit chat....(nor is a gogo) -> you select some girls -> you take them to the VIP room -> you have a closer look (tip expected if you start fingering etc...) then off you go to the ST hotel.
I seldom saw a lone "farang" but you shouldn't have problems entering especially these days of crisis, of course farang don't go there because of the "Japanese only" thing and I am sure that if there are more farang than Japanese going to these clubs -> then there will be some problems.
Only thing shocking for us:
- pricing structure, having some peanuts + fruits costing 40 bht being billed 300 bht, price of drinks (but going by the bottle is cheap) etc...
- ST/LT fees but if you chose your girl carefully then it is worth it
Big advice: Take your time to pick your girl, quality is average but you can easily find some 8-9-10, just need to look for them
I would compare these clubs to a mix of MP-gogo, in some you can find 100+ girls, most of them 5-7 but with a good bunch of 8-9-10 (a bit like models/sideliners)
Most clubs are the same quality as soi 33 (some clubs are dying so they look more like shithotles), some clubs are on par with G clubs, problem is you have hundreds of Japanese places.

Considering that you got your ass booted out of the JW Steakhouse for improper attire I would recommend that you give these clubs a pass.
