These requests are kinda futile, don't you think? Not because they generate bad information - ALL the information in this thread is useful and up-to-date - but it's all so very subjective.
Ask ten people the same question and all their answers will be 'right' but different.
Bottom line is this. All three hotels are excellent choices and you won't regret either. All are in excellent location. One may have bigger bathroom, one may be closer to Cowboy than Nana, another may be closer to Nana than Cowboy. In the end, it's irrelevent.
My advice? Flip a coin. You won't regret your stay in any of these.

Scobie is right...we all agree, all 3 are good...take the one with the best price. All have come up on Priceline.
Oops, forgot you are not paying. Flip away.
Never had a room at the Westin with a connecting door but I am sure there are some...for families. When you book, make it clear that you don't want one.

Of course, I appreciate that more now, but if there was a vital piece of information that I missed (such as one of the hotels having its pool/fitness center closed for refurbishment or something), I might have regretted not asking about recent experiences with these hotels at this forum.
People have different tastes and thus will give different answers sure, but having a collection of different arguments allows you to select the reasons made that appeal to you, and thus help make a choice.
So I don't think its completely futile, especially given that its taking bloody ages for me to search the forum at the moment. It may be tiresome for those who have had a fair amount of experience with these hotels, and those members having to answer similar questions routinely, but from my perspective, as a relative newbie not having stayed in the Sukhumvit road area before or knowing much about the hotels there, it could prove vital in making a the right decision for me.

I didnt use the word futile as an implied criticism. I meant it from the point of view that one man's meat is another man's poison.
I'd just reiterate this. All are great hotels. Stick with those three and you won't make a 'wrong' decision. All have great rooms, great service culture, great facilities and great location.

I've stayed at all three hotels, and I believe the rooms are slightly better at the Sheraton Grande. Also, if you're a music lover who buys CD's off the street, it's nice to have a CD stereo system in the room, and only the Sheraton has this, of the three. Discreet entrance at street level is an added advantage, and possible to pick up a FL at the nightclub, but usually not good value there. 'Walk of Shame' is worst at the Westin, and have to transfer elevators and walk past the font desk, if that makes you uncomfortable.

Well I have managed to get a reasonable deal for a Grande Deluxe room at the Sheraton. One of things that swung it (apart from the room deal) was the discrete entrance, I will have to check out the walk of shame at the Westin for myself before booking there I think. Maybe I will stay there next time.

Dear Brother Brogg,
Please tell us what the deal you negotiated at the Sheraton was. And if you haven't already joined the Starwood Preferred club don't forget to do so so as to accumulate your points there, and get assigned to one of the higher Starwood Preferred floors (I believe floors 25 and higher). GREAT hotel - stayed two weeks in January and going back in August.

570 USD inc taxes and breakfast for 4 nights stay (Grand Deluxe Room, Buffet Breakfast, Evening Cocktails, Butler Service, Free Highspeed Internet Access).
See the "Taste of Luxury" package at the Starwood Hotels website.
I think the grande deluxe rooms are located on one of the top floors, I have requested the highest floor possible in the booking anyway.

Check out the Sunday Brunch, with live piano, until 3 PM I think, but only if you're really hungry. Quite a spread for about 1000 baht, including drinks. All kinds of seafood, Indian, Chinese and Italian sections, and a devilishly extensive selection of desserts.
I'm sure you'll be extremely satisfied with the accomodations. Starwood Preferred floors are 24 and up, as I recall.

Um.. I was talking about a mate in real life, someone I work with.
The cheap hotel thing would have been a good idea last time I was in Bangkok, I was paying and stayed at the Holiday Inn Silom Road, will not be making that mistake again.
As for this trip, why would I want to take a girl to a 550 Baht a night hotel when I'm staying at a 5*, girl friendly hotel? Would rather just catch the skytrain, or failing that get a taxi. I should really make that 45Sqm room pay afterall.
