This morning I called to confirm a late checkout. I told the gal 1:30-2:00 and she said it wasn't a problem. I needed to do some extra shopping so took a walk out this time to the Phrom Phong BTS. I used alley in Washington Square to make a shortcut. It definitely cuts down on the walking time, I imagine it was somewhere around a 7 minute walk to the BTS station. If you've ever walked to or from Sazanka, just imagine it's 30 seconds longer because the Sazanka alley is just right in front of the hotel and slightly to the left.
Came back to the hotel and decided to check out. I went downstairs and the 2 girls at the desk had me checked out in less than 3 minutes. I asked one of them what room I was in and she said it was the Deluxe. I asked her what the difference was between Deluxe and Grand Deluxe and she said the Grand Deluxe are on the higher floors. So being that I was on the 6th floor and moved down to the 5th floor, anything above 5th floor must be Grand Deluxe. Otherwise, the rooms are identical. I actually think my 5th floor room situated further toward the back was quieter than the 6th floor room closer toward the front.
Some minor differences I noticed was that the water pressure on the 5th floor room was stronger but the toilet didn't flush as well. The water heater on the 5th floor was able to get hotter. I think this variation can happen from room to room.
This hotel is a winner in my book. Location is within easy walking distance to all the great English pubs in the area. Close to Emporium and within easy walking distance to the MRT and BTS. I heard they built a new J-Avenue type development near Emporium as well so that gives you another place to hang out. I used to have to wander out to Siam every other day or so for something but I found I only had to go out there once during my 4 night/5 day stay at this hotel. The 3 for 2 deal on Agoda makes this hotel an easy decision to make. Once you start getting near 3000 baht a night I think it has more competition that deserves looking at. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again though.

Due to a wonderful report by badfish, I decided to give I Style Trend Hotel a try.

Great place, and his reports are perfectly accurate.
A few observations:
1. The room is surprisingly small, with very little area to move about. I don't think the pictures of the room on the hotel website give an accurate perspective on the small size of the room. In fact, the reason the couch is built into the wall is because there is no room for any furniture otherwise. Rooms at Dream Hotel seem 30% larger. Rooms at FuramaXclusive Asoke seems slightly larger, while rooms at S15 seem the same size.
2. Given how small the room is, the bathroom is surprisingly large, with a huge rain shower area that can easily accommodate you and your girl. Part of the wall that separates the bedroom from the bathroom is retractable frosted glass. This allows you to be in bed, slide the glass open and watch your girl take a rain shower or bath if you like.
3. Free WiFi in the room. All you need to do is inform the front desk that you want WiFi access, and they will issue you a username and password.
4. If you wish to use the hotel's computer, there is no designated computer work station, desk or terminal. Someone from behind the front desk pulled out a fairly new laptop computer, and hooked it up to the internet for me in a small cigar room that is adjacent to the breakfast buffet area. This seemed a bit weird.
5. The bed was very comfortable, and the room is obviously brand new and clean. Contemporary style, furnishings and colors. Plasma TV on the wall. In room safe. I would compare the room to that of S15 Hotel on the corner of Soi 15 and Sukhumvit. The basic room is nearly the same small size. And the decor is contemporary and modern, just like S15.
6. I purposely requested a "quiet" room after reading of badfish's experience. I was given a room at the back of the hotel, and indeed it was very quiet.
7. Just like Badfish's experience, the toilet does not flush well. Very little water pressure. Often the water just swirled around, somewhat aimlessly.
8. The main lobby is on the second floor, which means you can take the ground floor elevator directly to your particular floor without ever walking by the lobby. For those of you who don't like the embarrassment of "checking in" your late-night girl at the main desk, this is perfect for you. No hassle whatsoever with the hotel and girls. Rooms have a box of condoms next to the mini bar, so obviously the hotel understands who their customers are.
Rates:
As with everything, price per night usually weighs more than minor criticisms regarding room size and slow flushing toilets.
Initially, I was going to try Grand Millennium at $100/night, plus taxes. But due to badfish's great report and Agoda's cheap rates for I Style (half the price of Grand M), I decided to stay here instead.
The best rate that I found was through Agoda.com, and their "Stay 3 nights, pay for only 2" rate. Total charged to my credit card was $170.00, which works out to $56.00/night, including all taxes, fees and breakfast. That's extremely cheap for this quality of a hotel. Dream Hotel for the same nights was nearly $90.00/night. S15 was $80.00/night. Grand Millennium was $100.00/night. And FuramaXclusive Asoke was $65.00/night. All of those prices still did not include taxes and fees. Obviously, I Style was significantly cheaper.
I would rate this hotel in the same category as S15 or FuramaXclusive Asoke. For the price that I paid, the hotel is an incredible bargain. If, however, the price is increased and becomes similar to Dream Hotel, then I'd rather stay at Dream. The rooms at Dream are bigger, the breakfast buffet at Dream is better, and I like Dream's location better. Plus, Dream has real computer terminals, which is somewhat important to me.
All in all, I definitely can recommend I Style Trend Hotel, despite the few minor criticisms I listed above. It's brand new, comfortable, clean and contemporary which I like. And the price through Agoda simply cannot be beat.

Thanks Buttman for an excellent follow-on report. I think this place, at that price, sounds perfect for me. And I like Soi 22. It has a lot to offer in terms of bars, restaurants, Titanium, Sazanka, foot massage, good pool tables, laundry, etc. I used to stay on Soi 22 all the time when I first started visiting BKK.
As much as I like Dream, for all the reasons you list, I find that the hotel is a bit of a hike up Soi 15, and there is nothing on 15 besides a good Korean place. But of course, it is central, and walking distance to SC and everything else down Sukhumvit the other direction.

you can get the furama asok for around 1800bt as the mystery deal on wotif.com (it's the 4.5 star property), that includes taxes.

Based on your post I have book this hotel for my trip in 2 weeks time. I did it through Agodo as you suggested and got the 3 for 2 deal.
I am really looking forward to this place, looks great.
I assume that it is girl friendly? I booked a room for 2 as I always do in any hotel I stay in, hope that's enough.
In Agodo's booking process they ask for the second persons name, I just put 'Name Unknown' as the first and last name, didn't seem to be a problem for them.
It will be interesting to see if the check in staff ask me when Ms. Name Uknown will be joining me

Here is a short review of this hotel having been here for 2 nights, with another 5 to go.
The position is great, 3 minutes from Suk and the Sky train and opposite Washington Sq.
It usually takes me some time to warm to a new hotel (or not at all), and my first impressions were that someone had gone to great efforts, and costs, to make this a 'designer' experience. They succeeded, but at the expense of any 'warmth'.
However, credit where it's due, the place has been fitted out expensively and the rooms are a delight, though somewhat smaller than I expected, but adequate.
The bathroom is great with an overhead 'rain shower' wet room setup.
The bed is lovely, large and with those top range hotel oversize goose down pillows that I keep promising myself I will buy for my own bed at home, until I check the prices!
Breakfast is good in quality but only average in choice.
This is not a hotel for the flip flops, shorts and sweaty t-shirt brigade. My fellow guests are a mixture of uber trendy young couples, tanned (read wealthy) German families and a smattering of business people. Sitting with a bar girl at breakfast would be an uncomfortable experience.
However, the best part is that access to your room is via the lift from the car park so that you can zoom straight to your room, by passing all public areas if you choose to do so. Naturally I booked a room for 2 and have had no problems with the security guy / gate keeper who stands in the car park ready to open the lift for you.
On check in the receptionist girl asked me if there would be two in the room, which I confirmed. She looked a little confused and asked when my ‘partner’ would arrive. I said I did not know, maybe later maybe not at all. An even more confused look on her face so I decided to put the cards on the reception desk and explained that I liked a double room, that I may or may not be bringing ‘guests’ back with me, any problem with that? She smiled and looked understanding, if not totally happy

These are the huge pillows, probably 2 or even 3 times normal bed pillow size, with four of them on the bed.
Best quality goose down pillows are very expensive.
