atl,I gather from your posts that you were initially on a daily rate,and then negotiated a yearly occupancy.
I want an occupancy for just one month,but I suspect it may be difficult to arrange unless one is already in Bangkok as Atrium`s web site requires payment of not only one month`s rent,but also a deposit equivalent to one month`s rent.
If as you have said Atrium will not accept credit card payments either cash or some sort of bank transfer would be required.Certainly a cash payment would require one to be in Bangkok as would signing any occupancy agreement which may be required by Atrium.
Anyway I would appreciate any advice you can give on whether a month`s occupancy can be negotiated from outside Thailand.
So far as the apartments are concerned I note each has a balcony which I think is very desirable for a stay longer than a week or so,but are the balconies user friendly?Do they have a table and chair so that one can sit and read, or have a drink in some comfort?
From Atrium`s web site it seems that there is a stool and a lounge in each apartment,but no proper chair which I think is a necessity if one has to sit for long periods at a desk.Is this the case?
Could you also provide your gym`s web site,so I can see what classes it offers as distinct from just equipment.For me pump and cycle classes are a must.

Just contact them I guess and tell them you will be arriving on a certain date.
They will hold the room until you arrive and pay your dues.
I have a 1 bedroom in my apartment (kvmansion) and two balconies. I don't use either of them to sit outside. One is used as the kitchen, the other as the laundry 'room'.
If you look for a month's stay, check out http://www.kvmansion.com. The room's a little smaller (30 against 34 sqm) but they charge only 12,000 baht for a month.
Furthermore, it's located directly next to Onnut BTS so you won't be dependent on the MRT and BTS. But that of course depends where you going. I guess ATL works out at California Wow at Ratchada.

Thanks for the advice Dr Love.I will keep kvmansion in mind.Its web site requires a security deposit of about 15750 baht to secure a one month occupancy payable in advance of arrival by either master/visa card,or bank transfer.
The actual monthly rate is not indicated,but no doubt it would be once the question was put.
I note that 80 TV channels are offered.Is the BBC one of them?
I very much doubt Atrium would agree to hold an apartment for me without some sort of security deposit,and that is something I hope atl may know,or can find out.
Whatever gym atl attends it is not California Wow at Ratchada as all Bangkok branches of that organisation have closed except for Siam Paragon.

I believe BBC is one of the channels (as well as Syfy, Fox News and Universal).
If you're interested in Atrium, I am sure ATL can arrange to keep the room for you until a certain time.

No, I started on 6 month contract. Now just did a month, as that contract is over and I may be moving offices. If not, I will make that 1 month into another 6 month contract. Management is pretty cool there.
I am 97% certain if you call and request a room for a month they will tell you when available and you just reserve it (maybe email a copy of your passport??) and pay when you arrive. And yes, it would be 30,000 baht up front and you get 15,000 back when you leave.
There is no chair, but the sofa "love seat" is rather comfortable and my laptop is set up on the coffee table and I just chill on the sofa when on internet or watching slingbox on my laptop. There is a flat screen that you can hook a laptop up to for watching movies etc.....the cable selction sucks and only 3 English stations.
The balcony certainly has room for a chair and small table, but not included.
I have just switched gyms to Nathong Fitness, very old school "Rocky" esque place. Great for hitting weights and cardio when it is too hot outside but no "classes." My old Gym is at Grand Mercure Fortune Town Hotel and does not have the classes you desire either. No idea about CW but Fitness First is on the top floor of Central Rama 9 which is at exit gate 2 of Rama 9 MRT, about 10 minutes from leaving the Atrium.
BTW, I just found an excellent "non happy ending" massage place (been walking past it for 6 months and just now strolled in) 200 baht for an hour thai, foot or neck/back/shoulder massage......went twice last week!
Out of BKK this week but will be back next weekend, PM me if you want me to see about reserving a room. I would request 7th or 8th floor because the balcony views are much better.

I shall not be returning to Bangkok until approximately April 2014.I shall get in touch in about 6 months,but I note that you may not then be still at the Atrium.
In any event I am inclining to stay at KVMansion which, although a little smaller at 30 square meters, is otherwise very similar in room and building design, and its On Nut location suits me better.It also does not require such a large deposit.
Unfortunately Fitness First does not offer one month contracts.The minimum is six months.
