Any hotel where I have to use tricks or make special arrangements out of the ordinary to bring a girl to my room is not a hotel I want to call home. There are too many hotels in Bangkok where I can bring a girl back with no questions asked. I refuse to patronize Amari since they will hassle you if you do not go out of your way to prepare for that hassle beforehand. To me, that's complete crap and I hope that hotel goes bankrupt. If we all boycotted the place, they would have to change their policies eventually.

Agree. It is not a good idea to stay in semi guest-friendly hotels putting staff with a booking list in hand to check out sanuk guests and their ladies at the elevator.
Had such experience before, just hated it.

Agreed, same with the Landmark, guy with a print-out at the lifts after ~9pm - PITA.
I do, however, go and sit in the Amari lobby and use their wireless Internet 8^)

So DON't book Double - OR ask for two keys - or stay at the Amari - and PLEASE - don't stay at any other hotels that have the NERVE to expect more than one occupant to be booked double. WOW - what an INCREDIBLE hassle that would be for such a tough guy.
And if anyone at any hotel even questions you...well, don't show your keys, just spit on them - that'll show them that really tough guys don't "roll over like a dog, jump through 3 hoops then stand up and beg".
Book Double, show two keys, and the Amari Blvd. (in MY experience) will not check lists. But if you don't want to jump through such an unbelievable hoop then the aforementioned tip is obviously not for you but for someone who just might want to enjoy a carefree stay at an excellent hotel in an outstanding location.

I visit dozens of forums, some with active memberships in the tens-of-thousands. None of them, I repeat, NONE OF THEM are anywhere near large enough to bring down even a single hotel chain simply by avoiding them alone. I agree that punters should probably avoid the non-girl-friendly hotels, but don't let yourself be bowled over by the weight of your own balls. LOS has plenty of folks who pick hotels based on things other than their BG policy and many hotels are plenty aware of this fact.

I have moved to more modest digs, Grand business inn
Amari is a nice joint, but I can no longer justify the price
tried to get a room at the Amari 2 wks ago, 8,000b / nite!
