Any one have any new info on the building work ? is it still best to get a room at the front of the hotel ?

I'm at the Manhattan right now. On the 7th floor back (looks out on the new 25+ story hotel being built). The noise starts about 7:30am. Not really very noisy, since the major construction is all going on at 25+ stories, but you can hear some noise.
I can't hear any noise from the new construction in front, but once you get outside you can hear and see it. Don't know if you can hear any construction noise if you have one of the front-facing rooms.
They are remodeling some of the rooms. Darker rosewood-like colors. I have one of the rooms that just got redone. Its fine, but the in-room safe does not work and will not work while I am here. Have to use the hotel safe deposit box, which is a bit of a pain.
Buffet is exactly the same as before. Even the same types of food. Korean, Japanese, and American breakfast items. Omelet station. Decent considering its part of the price of the hotel room.
Girl-friendly as always. I registered my TGF so she can come in and out as she pleases. No hassles for her at all.
Floor 4 is the only non-smoking floor and it is full. Since my room is newly redone there is no smoke smell, so I am fine with that.
King bed is firm, lots of hot water, air con works just fine. If the room safe worked I would be completely happy.
If anyone has questions post them.

An update on the noise:
The building on Suk Soi 15 is being worked on 24 hours a day. You can clearly hear the pile driving and the dropping of steel beams at 3am.
The 25+ story building gets worked on from about 7:30am to 6pm or so. At 7:30am I can easily hear the hammers as they nail something across from my floor 7 room.
Doesn't really bother me, since I can sleep through almost anything. And, my TGF is dead to the world.

More about noise:
I mentioned earlier that they are redoing some of the rooms. This also creates noise during the day. Don't know which floors are affected, but certainly they are doing work at the end of floor 7, where I am.

I sent the hotel an email. Below is their responce concerning Internet in the rooms.....
"we are sorry in the room don't have we have at business center only charge 1 hour 150 baht"

Just returned from LOS and stayed here twice, begining and end of trip, with a Pattaya stay inbetween. I can definately recomend this place for the money. No problems with guests ( I booked a double) and had no issues with noise, although it can be heard at times. I would not hesitate booking a return visit here.
