I extended my stay at this hotel two times. No problems, but when I saw Daniel trying to figure out if this was possible, I understood why there could be some hickups.
The booking-system, as I saw it, was a date/room spread-sheet that was filled out by hand - with a pencil.

I agree with ErikE, I extended while there, and Daniel was on his PC then entered it into Excel that I leave on the 3rd, come the 1st Daniel asked I leave tomorrow? when I replied no I booked to the 3rd, he looked most confused, maybe its a swiss thing, 
Also something I missed my room card failed to open door 3 times late at night, and I made sure it was no were near my mobile phone, all times had a different girl in tow........... 2 times only took a few minutes, last time I had to wait outside my room for 20 mins for Daniel to return, but I had been drinking with him on the suk just before, just adds to the fun of the place.......
Just sort the bloody internet out and 1.7K is still a fair price

That in itself doesn't make it a bad system. The theory of relativity, Newton's laws of motions, etc, etc were calculated without modern computers! What do you think hotels used before PCs?!
I'm pretty sure I got all the discounts over 2 weeks, without having to chase them up. One minor hiccup was Daniel thinking I was due to check out a couple of days before I did but he checked and I easily extended my stay.
It's a small hotel and he can't be there all the time. 1.30AM checkin? You'd be better off looking for him in Rainbow 3!

Stayed there 3x changed Reservation a few times - no issue's. I like the personal touch to the place and its designed for the BTF traveller - free cell phone - seperate entrance - no joiner fee - great location - very reasonable price - awesome beds -very comfortable. Yes a few hiccups occur and they are handled - all the issues I am reading have happened to me in 5 star hotels as well. I always confim my reservation 2x with Daniel via email - when I make changes I walk over to the ledger with him as he makes the change. Would pay the 1.7K - he should consider maintaing some sort of promotion - its good marketting.

Thx. I will cerainly do that.
One thing I fail to understand is why are people so defensive about this place to the extent of calling a fellow BTF member a whiner when he expresses his frank views about the place.
I think there is something more than what catches the eye.
Either
Some BTF members are partners in this place and are unabashedly promoting this place, or,
They get some freebees at the other BTF members cost.
I still fail to understand which part of my posting is whining.
The essence of what I said was this hotel has to buckup if it has to stay in business for a long time.
Please note that I own a 3 star hotel in my place and know how these things operate.

And in your 3 star hotel, when you first started, did you have any teething problems ??
Did you in fact have such a good reputation at your first few months, that it only left one way to go really, not downhill, but some problems would be bound to eventually arise.
How do you feel about someone bagging your 3 star hotel when they have not even set foot in the front door, as you have.
Why don't you tell us the name and location of your hotel and we can return you the favour.
Wake up to yourself drongo.
By the way, none of the btf own, or part own this place, believe what you want. It is just a good new clean place that is recommended for all the right reasons. Sure it will have some problems, what hotel in Los does not for christs sake.
One btf member is friends with the owners adn he has already on many occasions stated this up front, like it or lump it msg, take soem of that sh_t yourself and it might make you taste better.

The proof of succes in the hotel industry is measured by occupany figures and profitability.
Occupancy seems to be extremely high = succes.
Profits should be healthy through hands on management = succes
Having yourself a hotel operation you should be more nuanced in your opinion.
Never stayed at the SG myself. Had a look before I booked some friends and was happy with what I saw. My friends stayed at the SG for approx a week. They changed their reservation a few times without hassle. Overall they were extremely satisfied and happy to return in the future. This is more measuring succes for me. Returning customers and a high occupancy... I guess they will stay in buisiness.
BTW. I was used to work in the hotel industry myself and feel that my judgement is more worth than the judgement of a person who actually was never there...
Enjoy your stay at the Majestic. (Actually, also this hotel I like) and take an effort to see what SG is all about!
