Thanks, we know now what we are... Judging is always easy, isn't it? But no - it is not if you willing to look at both sides of the coin.
There are many reasons to run this model, let's look at some of them.
The barfine turnover is not even 2 % of the total turnover of Livingstone's, so this business is really not the most important one we run here. Important for us is having the girls inside the bar, entertaining customers, making them return to the bar. That is a difference to GoGos or other Meat-Market bars. Customers only looking for a girl for one or a few nights are basically not the target group of Soi 33.
We then need the girls to develop a connection, an identification for the bar they are working in. They need to understand that if the bar has customers they can make money. If their behavior is not appreciated by the customers the bar AND the girls will lose, on the longer term. No question, this is very difficult to accomplish with bar girls, but it works for some of them. They are then the stars of the bars, well-known and have a good income.
We pay the salaries for the girls in the low season, when not many customers come to the bar, even if the bar makes no money. The girls know that they are safe, and they at least have a minimum income every month. For the successful girls this is only peanuts compared to what they earn with customers, but for others this is an important part to make their living. We on the other hand then want the girls to be honest, to follow the rules and not to make special agreements with customers to meet them outside.
History: From time to time we get a group of girls into the bar, who are very experienced and know how to play the game. They are talking to the other girls: Why do you pay the bar fine to the bar, just meet the customer outside later tonight and keep the bar fine for yourself? We had this development once to the extend that the level of bar fine income was dropping close to 0. The minor problem is then that we don't have bar fine income, but the customers learn NOT to come to the bar any more but meet the girls outside, so we don't even have income on drinks any more.
If a service provider, let's take a hairdresser, employed, in the Western World, makes some additional money with friends or family after work - this is generally accepted. If this hairdresser talks to customers IN THE SALON, that next time he should send an SMS or call, and then the haircut will be provided in the apartment of the provider, to save some money - then this is against business ethics - and a reason to get fired, if the boss finds out. Now - we are aware of the problem to discuss the "business ethics" of a bar girl  ... let's open a new thread for that.
We could proceed discussing whether a business model like this makes us pimps or - if implemented successfully - could have a positive impact to girls, customers and the bar - but we leave that to the self-explained judges.

I have read some tripe, but this one from management takes the cake. Tripe is a kind word for 'horse shit'.
I did not mention Jack had made arrangements to meet Jill after work, just a chance encounter and managements want's a piece of the action.....hmmm I think the word I am looking for is extortion, yep that's the word.
As XPC said dumb and dumber if they open their mouth and she get's the sack, what some people will do to exploit females.
Doctor, I have never encountered the word 'pimp'. Are you sure you have spelt this correctly and not 'pims' the drink.

I wonder for how long is the time period the bar fine needs to be paid? If someone visited your bar, and lets say, one month or two (or... a year...) after met a girl from your bar outside and did what he did with her through the night, would you still say you need to collect the bar fine? Is this for life? Another version of this, lets say the poor guy visited once your bar, met a girl atfer a month whom has just started working in your bar (not while he was visiting you bar), would you still ask for the bar fine? If a girl meets someone who has never been in your bar, afterhours, just in the street, would you still ask the girl to report to you and pay the fine? Hummm complicated situation.....
Maybe to simplify the rules I suggest saying no matter where one of your bar girls meets the guy, she is expected to report about this and share the income with managment, regardless if the guy has visited your bar or is just someone she met after your bar closing time, on her way home.
Or in simpler words: girl works for bar, girls gets pay for sex, girls must pay bar. Regarldelss of the specifics how she met the guy. While she works for your bar, she has to pay the bar fine if she gets money for sex. Of course, if she does it for free - this is called boyfriend....

Funny comment. Extortion. --- May be you should read again what we stated above, you obviously misunderstood something.
It furthermore does not make too much sense to throw "horseshit" towards us, only because we honestly explain our business policy. If you disagree or even have ideas how we can organize that business entity more efficient, for the girls, the customers and the bar - come up with some proposals, and we will be happy to learn from you.
Reg. dumb - do we really want to discuss WHO is exploiting females?

It is not possible to follow up on each customer. It depends on the girl - if she decides in this cases that the customer should pay she will ask him for the bar fine. Quite unrealistic that this will ever happen.
The THB 700.00 barfine is usually only paid when the customer comes to the bar and takes out the girl the same day.

Hmm...that would completely miss the target of what we want. We are quite sure, that some of our girls go to late night places after the bar closes, to pick up customers, and that is simply not our business.

I really appreciate that I can pay the barfine with my credit card. Now, if I can also add the tips for their services rendered on my card as well, that would be perfect. That way, it can be neatly allocated under "entertainment expenses", plus, I don't have to pay my credit card right away, until the bill comes and I get mileage points too.
