I had stayed here for about 3 days before relocating to Jomtien Beach. I have to admit that I really did like the place. Close to the action and yet far enough to not deal with the traffic. The place was very Girl Friendly. I had brought in two TG on my first night and we encounter no problem in the lobby. They just took their ID and that was it. I was particular interested if they would give them hassle or treat them any different but they didn't. I had booked for double but did not get charge extra for bringing in an "additional" guest. I had book Adelphi Suites via agoda.com and there was no charge for me to use the Internet... both wirelessly and LAN. Connection was slow but I guess I couldn't complain. Overall though, I wouldn't mind staying there again however I noticed that the price have gone up in a short week time. I remember just paying only $75 USD for the Executive One Bedroom Suite but now it almost double what I had paid.

It is a good hotel but the prices are rising. When I stayed there I noticed several Singaporean Families checking in for their vacation. I asked around and it seems that several tour agents are hawking the Adelphi at the travel shows in Singapore. That being the case I would suspect that in addition to 'high season' effects you can count on 'high season' prices during Singaporean School Holidays...

That probably explain the reason why Aldephi Suites is fully book for this month. I have to settle for Grand President this time around. I rather choose President Solitaire but the walking distance from Suk to PS is just too much. Oh well... maybe better luck next time.

...are you, like, really old, or just really out of shape? I stayed at PS previously, and the walk down to Sukhumwit was neither arduous, nor a bother - maybe a brisk 8-10 minutes, and plenty of cool places to explore. I read this a lot around here, with folks complaining about what amounts to 10-15 footwalks, as if they were arduous and intolerable (ditto with the Town Lodge location, or some such). What is it with you guys?

DD, What I refer to is a long walk is not the actual walk. 350 meters from Suk to PS after a night of Disco, party, drinking, and the only thing on your mind is shagging your stunner date... now that is a long walk.

Wow I was very impressed with this hotel for the price. Low season prices are feasible for the studio. High season from Nov IMHO is too much for this hotel. I plan to return.

Stayed for 11 nights at the newish Adelphi Grande on Suk Soi 41. Booked via agoda.com for a very good rate on their Superior Suite. Quite satisfied with the room; king bed, LCD TV, work area, free wifi, couch, full-size fridge and washer/dryer in kitchen, and surprisingly large bathroom - large shower stall with both hand-held and rain shower heads. Included breakfast buffet was sufficient - not spectacular but I did enjoy the french toast and chocolate chip muffins. Did not use the exercise room - but noticed the True brand on the tread-mills. And did see one guest using free weights. Clean, well maintained, and good sized pool. Only issue is placement. The chaise lounges only got sun for 2 hours each starting at 8:30 AM. The latest got shaded until 11:30 AM. Guest friendly but desk took IDs. Unless you arrived very late when there was only a single desk worker who happened to like taking naps in the back office. No issue with 2 girls either. While I tried to be considerate when I used the washing machine, other guests had the spin cycle going all night long. Perhaps some short-times turned into long-times and a clean set of clothing. Would I stay here again? While I have no complaints with the hotel itself, location was a problem. BTS is the only way to go. There are some major traffic slow-ups at the Soi 42 intersection. I swear I waited over 10 minutes in a cab waiting for the light to change; and then didn't make it before it went red again. And any taxi coming from the higher numbered soi's has to go all the way to soi 31 before it can make a u-turn back to soi 41. Getting a cab usually requires a guard riding a bicycle down to Suk and leading a taxi back to the hotel. Cabs do not cruise this soi.

Sai Tai, staying at Adelphi Grande right now. Not a bad serviced apartment especially getting the largest room w/o breakfast for 50k/month. I'm on the 4th floor, one of 3 units on this floor since it has the restaurant and pool here. The unit I got is unique in that isn't a separate bedroom. I had the choice between the separate bedroom and the open studio design and the lack of the wall really makes it feel big. One pitfall of this floor is that there is no keycard required in the elevator (plus or minus depends on if you have unwanted guests). The other pitfall is that the unit is more prone to mosquitoes since there is no enclosed hallway. No problem using the washer/dryer. It's super quiet and works quite well. The bathroom has a rainfall showerhead but it doesn't have the torrential downpour ability like the ones at Fraser Suites so it makes it a bit disappointing. The toilet doesn't flush well and sometimes gets stuck pressing on the button. 2 TVs side by side. No pots or pans but there are small burners in the kitchen. Now it's raining quite hard. I walked back and found the street completely flooded. So glad I wore my flipflops instead of shoes. I was walking in water 8 inches deep. The places I go I haven't had issues with traffic. Just sometimes returning from Kaset or Thonglor/Ekkamai I don't like that U-turn but it's not all that bad. The small soi is nice and quiet.

For those forum members that have stayed at the Adelphi Suites, can anyone confirm if the "in-room-safe" is large enough for a normal size laptop computer? Is the internet "wireless" or "wired"? I've tried sending an E mail to Adelphi, but could not understand their reply. Thanks. OCT.

O69: i'm staying here now - wifi is weak (i'm on the 17th flr) but wired works just fine (same password apparently). the safe is a standard issue combo safe and can barely fit my 15" laptop so leave your desktop at home!
