Hey, there ain't nothing wrong with a little bit of Karaoke here n there. This happy Yankee says Karaoke is a-ok.
Anybody been to this particular Karaoke joint? Is it like the typical place where it's just you and a hostess in a room or is it the type where it's an open bar and everyone takes a turn.
Hmm...May get to do a little bit of Elvis next time around after all...

I emailed them today and the discount ends in Oct after which it's 1700 baht which does not sound as if it's worth it, could stay at the tai pan for that. Also the karaoke is korean sh_te mai mee luktung, as for elvis I know HM the king met him but never seen him in Bkk karaoke except for the imprersonator at the Asia, I ran off as fast as I could-peter

As a current guest at Swiss Grottinno I simply want to let all the newbies or others know that I also highly recommend this place. I have stayed at almost all the places mentioned on the forum having been a frequent visitor and resident over the past 5 + years. From the people running the place to the price to the quality of the rooms it is a bargain. I dont post often but enjoy reading often, just another pleased customer.

It's a month since I checked out of Grottino now, so things may have changed, but:
I noticed the construction work in Soi17 when I walked to the hotel, but never when inside. There is some offices between the hotel and Soi17 and the rooms seems to have very good isolation. There was a short term construction work right outside my window when I stayed there: Hardly noticed it.

Popped in here as I am looking for a last minute booking in BKK for next month. Must admit I haven't laughed so much in ages!
The SG sounds great and the rooms look well tasty. I've mailed Daniel and we'll see what happens - anyone there in September around 12-15?
And it's good to see msg has taken his hotel knowledge and fox trotted oscar out of here. Never did understand why he was getting so stressed about the hiccups in a place he has never even visited.
Thanks for all the info on the site re hotels - sadly Majestic Suites is fully booked and I expect the same from SG. Maybe that MP with rooms might be the way forward....

Hmm here goes...
All I can say is GREAT things about this place. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the people very friendly and nice to chat with. They helped me on many items in the area to help me get about.
And now my flight was screwed up, at 0430 am daniel woke up and got me into a room for a couple days untill my flights can be fixed.... they are pretty full right now, but have gone way out of thier way to try to help. They even lent me a mobile phone while in the area.
I have traveled many places around the world from a cot on the floor to 5 star resorts, and I must say the help and sincereness of this place is top notch! It may not have a huge marble entrance with 5 bell boys waiting to help, but it is nice and the rooms very clean, when I come back this will be where I stay.
And no I get no $ for props for this place, nor do I work for them! I am just so impressed by my stay and now after last night it has deffinitaly topped it all of.
To bad about the price up to 1700 and no more special for forum members. I do hope they keep it. But till then give it a whirl!

Stayed here for 8 night 1st of August. Enjoyed the location, privacy and room.
But
Now that I am coming back in October I have emailed several times to make a reservation with no reply.
Any body else having this problem or maybe this is just an aberation.
