Had the same with JW Marriott last summer. It was before a big convention and I think they wanted to make sure, that nobody brings in any nonsense in andvance.
When I'm in BKK I always stay JWM. I'm usually only for few days in town, so it is pretty perfect for me. Only a short step to the flesh-supermarket, short step back and everything is fine.
Everytime I booked a Club Level room there, I got a 1 bedroom suite. ( MR member ).
Even if they close side entrance. NO Problem. At JW you never get a stare if you bring some girls with you ( never less than 2 ). I think if you're there as a single male, they would wonder more, if you come in late night ALONE

JW Marriott is the best. During APEC they had tight security and so it makes sense for them to implement this again.
This is a no tour group inn so don't worry about taking the odd sleeping partner home with you; but kindly don't bring him/her into the execcutive floor lounge in the morning unless he/she is going to be a long term partner and registered guest.

Greetings everyone
I was wondering if anyone has stayed at the Intercontinental Bangkok, directly across from the Chitlom BTS station?
Typically, I stay at the JW Marriott or the Westin, both of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. So any comparison to them would be greatly appreciated.
It seems to be only two stops from Nana along the BTS, so I'm thinking it's an easy BTS ride to all the central action along Sukhumvit.
Any thoughts? Many thanks....

I really liked Hilton Millenium on the river. Boat ride, to train to girl and back again, great restaurants, elite benefits, good price. Even bring the girl (or 2 girls) back. Good deal.
BTW, the boat ride is not one of those slow ones the Marriot uses. It's faster and sleek. Lots of fun 4 me!

I never stayed at the IC, but I did stay at the Holiday Inn next door, which was a nice hotel, albeit, a small room. And as a Platinum member, didn't get much....they didn't even give me a breakfast! However, I stayed at the HI Silom and got better service there for less price (but a walk to the BTS).
The IC is twice the price as the nextdoor HI. Ask me, I'd go with the Conrad over the IC if you are an elite member because the Conrad will feed you in the morning, the IC won't, even if an Ambassador member (like me).
Cock-a-roach Windsor Suites feeds you for 1/4 the price of the IC, and you'd expect the IC to trump the WS.
