At this time of day it may take me some time to get a taxi meter all the way to CL soi 19.
Would I be better getting a cab to an MRT underground station up Rachada way then catch a train to Sukhumvit?
Sure it's busy at that time but loads of taxis around... From arrival just walk down one floor to the taxi stand or up to the arriving taxis which all love to take a customer back to town...
First a cab to the MRT, then the MRT and then??? A walk to Soi 19, with your big Samsonite or another taxi ??? 
Man, just take a cab and that's it...

I forgot to mention my case does have wheels and CL cannot be far from the MRT exit on Suk.
I imagine a taxi meter has to come down Soi 3 then turn onto the Suk to get to 19, Soi 3 can be a nightmare at that time.
Maybe I can jump out of the cab when it passes Bamboo bar and then get the taxi to deliver my case to CL

Just a warning about City Lodge soi 19. At the moment they are undertaking renovations to the restaurant, which involves drilling and hammering from 8AM. I was booked in for 5 nights and when I complained they transfered me to a back room at City Lodge soi 9, which is quite satisfactory. So no complaints about my treatment, but if you are looking for R & R (whether that means rock and roll or rest and relaxation in your lexicon) you might want to give this place a swerve for the time being.
