What a difference a few months make. I stayed at the Dream Hotel in Jan 2007 and there were only 10 rooms out of 100 occupied. Stayed again over the last weekend and they are touting 90% occupancy along with the soon to be open building expansion of the hotel across the street. The new wing is planned to be open in Oct. 2007. They have some of the best Engilsh speaking staff in Thailand of any of the hotels that I visited and they must pay well as all are the same faces.

Flava in the Dream Hotel has move to the top of my favorite Thai restaurant for many reasons the only thing that can be faulted is the wine selection so best to bring your own.
In talks with the people there about the new wing. I guess it will have a rooftop swimming pool with a restaurant overlooking the pool. It will be interesting to see.
I tried booking 3 deluxe rooms there this week, but only 1 was available so best to book early now.
Flava still needs no advanced booking.

Can anybody...ANYBODY please tell me what the DREAM suite is like...value for money??..WOW factor??..layout??
Im been torn between this and a suite at the Landmark...yet I cant find out any detail in regards to this one,exept for the price.
Hope a fellow monger can help.....Mercutio

I stayed in the Dream Suite on two separate occasions in Oct 2006 and Jan. 2007. Three nights each stay.
It's a very impressive suite, the WOW! factor is high at the Dream, both in the room and the reception area and bar - even the halls are kind of cool. The blue lighting and white furnishings in the room really do the trick. Big bedroom with an entertainment system that includes all the bells and whistles. Big bathroom but no jacuzzi. A separate eating area and a sitting room with TV, a full wet bar, expresso machine, microwave, etc. Lots of closet and storage space, really big inroom safe, etc.
It's obviously intended to function as a "corporate hospitality suite" as well as a hotel room. Really nice and as the company was paying, I couldn't complain about the price. I don't think it is very good value for money though. You get more for your money at the President Solitaire in a Platinum Suite or one of the Suites at the Davis.
I don't know which sort of suite you're considering at the Landmark, but the Dream Suite beats the Landmark's Executive Suites hands down.
Remember, though, there is only one Dream Suite at the Dream Hotel and it is almost always booked.

Thanks Evil..i think the Dream is just what the doctor ordered for the first few days before heading of to Pattaya to stock up on the tan..as the blue lighting is apparently great for hiding any lack of tanness...or any other bodily imperfections (come on who hasnt noticed that somtimes...just somtimes,that the tight thai hottie with the purrfect skin isnt quite so purrfect when subjected to harsh western lighting??).
If nothing else the under bed lighting gimmick needs to be tried at least once.
I'm not in town till febuary 9-12,but if any fellow mongers are in town are maybe up for a "Harem" moment..specially with the full wet bar...then let me know!...Mercutio
