the new place is called town lodge and should open early august.
location at the very end of soi 18. tuktuk service to sukhumvit or BTS station will be provided for guests.
seems that pricing will be at 1200 baht/night, incl breakfast. watch this very forum for a special opening promotion soon.
town lodge is operated by the people who manage the swiss grottino residence.
btw grottino residence is already soft renovating their rooms. bathrooms are throughly scrubbed. wood is repainted and some color will be added.
cd's are available for free, I think.
also there are plans for a proper reception and a recreational area on the top floor.
and a bigger water tank is added.

Those maids are cute and very friendly. I stayed here 3 times over 25 days and asked the first time for 4 towels a day. Each time I came back they had 4 for me w/o asking.
