Room rates at Swiss Grottino do not appear to include breakfast. Anyone know if a full (English/American) breakfast is available at Swiss Grottino and how much does it cost?

Stayed at the Swiss Grottino over the weekend for the first time and have to say that this is a great little hotel. The rooms are well decorated and the service is efficient and friendly. The separate entrance makes it feel more like a serviced apartment than a hotel.
The restaurant also does a good combination of fallang and Thai food that meant my tilac and I could both have our favourite food in the same venue. The rate appears to have increased to Bt1950, but for me it was value for money and I will stay there again.

sad to say, but at 1950 bt a night (wo b/fast), the SG is grossly overpriced. It's not exactly brand new anymore, which was what made it worth it for me at its orginal 1600bt.
I like the place for the same reasons many on this forum share, but in all seriousness, at a room budget of 1950 baht, I may as well look into the higher end service apartments. The size of the rooms in SG by no means warrant that price, and again... no breakfast? there are many newer small hotels within the 1000 - 1400 bt range that have sprung up in the area. They just need to be sniffed out. Again, sad to strike this great place off my staying list, but pricewise, 1600 was just about right, 1800 was already overpriced but tolerable, but 1950 is way over the line.

1950 BHT they just lost 3 rooms for 7 days booking for January.

Yes, I have edited this post, far better to give options rather than attack a single establishment,, what REALLY surprised me was how many sites advertise the Ambassadore hotel YUCK at over 1,600 BHT,, that makes SG look like a bargain.

what I like best there is the sofa in the corner, but that ledge that runs at head level behind it is a killer. The sofa is very comfortable to relax on anytime and niot just have the bed to sit on, especially with a girl or two with me.
at B1950 it is getting steep, but the location is pretty prime, near the BTS/Subway, and Soi Cowboy as well as a stones throw from sazanka on Soi 22.
Any other places that would have a similar set-up?
The deluxe rooms at the Nana actually have a decent sofa in most of them, but I only like to stay there a night or two when I first hit town.

Citadines is a brand new serviced apartments place that is just opening these days. It's more or less at the mouth of soi 16 to Ratchadapisek Rd. It seems construction work is not yet fully completed in the groundfloor. It is VERY close to Sukhumvit/Asoke crossing (so to Soi Cowboy and the 20, 22, Sois) The buildung and entrance are surprisingly ugly for a new appartment place with all that hype about such places in BK, but the rooms/suites seem to be quite nice (telling from the pictures) Good value for money... I wouldn't expect too much from the Cafe/Restaurant and breakfast though...
Watch out: the back side of the building has a nice open and very close view on Ratchadapisek Rd.
