There is usually someone there until midnight or 1am or later if the managers are in the restaurant drinking with friends or customers. Usually someone is there in the morning around 6am. It used to be a problem but now if I come in very late, they know to give my key to the security guard who is always there. Also if I have an early flight, I settle my bill the night before.

Spoke with manager, he says will leave room key card with security guard for late check in. Just visited hotel as guest for first time last month. Is there a better hotel within walking distance of Soi Cowboy? I have tried Tai Pan & Jasmine Suites. For the price prefer Grottino.

Options (reasonable price) that are close to Cowboy: Town Lodge: - Soi 18 Citi Lodge – Soi 19 Drop Inn – Soi 20 Charta Court - between 15 and 19 Swiss Grottino Citadines – Soi 16 The Key – Soi 19 S15 – Soi 15 Note: The Key and S15 are a bit more expensive but they both have reasonable intro rates going on right now. An acquaintance stayed at The Key last week and upon booking the room he was told that there was an 800 baht joiner fee, but he was never actually charged one.

Thinking of staying at the SG for the first time ever during an upcoming trip to BKK in May. Have previously always stayed in 5-star comfort (SGS, Landmark, Hilton, Lebua, etc.), so not sure how the experience will pan out. Staying on own this time vs expense-paid trips earlier, therefore the need to switch to someplace cheaper. Am turned off by grubby and tacky places, but otherwise don't mind simple accommodation, especially as the SG has such a great location. I'm assuming the place is totally GF. No point in sacrificing some standard amenities (e.g., a pool) if you can't have a stress-free run of the place at least. Need confirmation/update on the place, and any last minute warnings, tips on staying there would be greatly appreciated. Are all the rooms the same in terms of size/layout/view/noise level? Thanks, guys.
