I got sweet-talked into purchasing an Advantage plus card from Accor I'm not that easy to sell too but the crunch was they would beat ANY advertised hotel offer, on their books, by 15%. A free night is also thrown in in any of their hotels.
A good example of their pricing is Sukumvit Grand Sofitel,, 3195 BHT per night. ( The best price I have found elsewhere is around 4,500 BHT)
I usually hunt hotels in the 1,200 - 2,000 BHT range but the sofitel does look very nice.

BK I have had a card for a year now, also other benefits is dining at one of their restuarants and get 50% off for 2 people or 25% Discount for 1
I'm actually booked for Grand Sukhumvit for tomorrow night for free, just to pay tax.

I've had this card for a year, the free night is almost the cost of the card, but the absolute REAL value is when dining or drinking in the hotels. As mentioned Big Beefa, 50% off when 2 dine, that means sunday buffet at the Novotel Bangna for 2 people comes to under 500 baht.
Be careful though Mel, I have found the rates offered by Accor, even with discounts, to be better on other hotel websites. Also the free voucher, theres a max limit of rooms at each hotel per night, Try and use it at the relatively new Sofitel in Pattaya, they aren't accepting vouchers until April next year !!!!
Also the card, vouchers and any other discounts do not count on special holidays, that includes Valentines day, I found out the hard way at the Sofitel in Silom, it was going to be expensive enough WITH the discount, but when I was told I couldn't use my accor card discount, my ATM card had a fit !
If, like me, you like to eat out a lot, there are plenty of fine restaraunts to choose from in the Accor group and the card saves you a lot of dough.

As I stated the "crunch" for me to accept offer was 15% discount over any other advertised offer. So if you find Soffitel BKK at 3,000 BHT they will offer 2,550 BHT gauranteed. ( Please note it is only 10% until December 1 and then 15% from then on).

You will find the discounts only apply to the hotels rack rate (Full Rate), which is the Hotel's highest rate and at times you'll find the internet rates or rates off a Travel Agent cheaper than your discounted rate. Check into it - I have.

Big beefa,,, I questioned this,, I also referred the sales-lady to http://www.hotelreslist.com which is where I normally shop for hotels. She clearly stated "for the available hotels we will beat best price there by 15% ".
Just to make sure I'll book something for Febuary and let you all know how it works out.
