Sorry but i did not bother to ask the names as they are all written in Thai (and no intention to go back in the near future). These cafes can be usually identified by the colorful lights in front of the establishments. You will come across a lot of these places when heading out of Bangkok at night. Furthermore those which i visited are located in the outskirts of Bangkok, meaning about 20-30 kms. from Sukhumvit. Girls working numbers between 10-30 or more (depending on the size of the cafe). Some in airconditioned rooms while others are semi-open...as you can see the stage and girls singing/dancing from the outside.
However, there is a nearer and popular cafe along Rama 9 Road (intersection w/ Ramkamhaeng Road) named "Rama 9 Plaza" where i spotted several farang customers. This place is fully-packed specially on weekends...and depending whether a performer for the night is popular. so an advance booking is recommended. The entertainment compose of the main star singer of the night, comedy sitcoms and male/female singers of the house.

Yeah, i am a little bit concerned about the characters of the customers who visit such places. I do not make any untoward gropings, flirtings whenever i'm there (compared to what i do in go go bars). most locals guys also come in bigger groups. also, i wouldn't be surprised if the girl i'm having is the gf or admirer of one of the customers who frequents the place. sometimes, i get long stares from some customers which i find uncomfortable. yeah my two thai friends got involved with a brawl with four off-duty policemen right inside the cafe and main issue is jealousy as the girls give more attention to my friends.

In terms of looks, i could compare them with the go go scene - which is about 3-6 (out of 10) of course in my personal ranking. although there are some cafes, especially the bigger ones who could have 70% of the girls in the 5-7 rankings. in bed, same talent as everywhere - can get a deadfish or otherwise. in terms of taking care of their customers they are a little reserved compared to their go go sisters and a good conversation is probably what most of them are up for. so groping, kissing, touching might land you in trouble with a wrong girl. i think a discreet action would be generally OK especially when you and the girl strikes up a chemistry. Some girls could also be pushy on drinks. IMO a visit or two for the experience is good (if you like the scene). Actually, there's really nothing else (flesh) to see as they are dressed in semi to decent attires. Most of them are also singing upcountry love songs and body movements on stage are limited - you will just always wonder what's behind that gown or skirt.

You are right. It is very highly recommended that you have someone who can speak Thai for you if you cannot speak it by your own. I myself can converse adequately in Thai but there are some words i neither understand nor expressed that can make our conversation livelier. There will always be dull moments if both of you cannot understand each other which would end up as a comedy scene. I mean, if you cannot converse with her the only alternative is to watch those singers (which you also cannot understand what they're singing about). Unfortunately, if you also negotiate right away you will get an inflated price.

Aha, I think I know that location. If I'm not mistaken this is where the slapping incident i mentioned took place. Is this cafe located on the corner of sukhumvit 105 road (near the traffic light). Because if not that incident took place on the soi just before soi 107 sukhumvit road. the stage is located outside garden while there's also a separate airconditioned room for dinner. Me and my friends also had an experience in another bigger cafe (a lot of beautiful girls) wherein many of them swarmed at us when we came. when one of the girl sitting with my friend sang on the stage the others asked us to put a garland. when we declined all of them suddenly disappeared beside us, ha, ha, ha. nice place but too pushy.

All I remember about the location was seeing a sign for soi 105. it was a small soi on the left heading out of BKK, and the cafe was the first place on the left. My ex was driving at the time and I was seeing everything through heineken spectacles.. so that's the best I can do.
It was the first in a row of establishments... the rest were closed. Overall it was a small and pretty dismal place, but the girls were absolutely stunning. I think the owners name was Nock or maybe Nong? She was pretty famous singer by all accounts and there were posters of her on some of the walls.
To be honest it didn't look very inviting from outside, with just a door and all the windows blacked out. The giveaway to something interesting inside was the number of BMW's etc. parked outside. Not the sort of place or area that the average farang would venture into without some local knowledge or a guide. We left after 4.0am and it was still going strong, so the 2.0am rule obviously doesn't apply there.

it should be the place i'm also referring to. the rest of the establishments were closed since they are commercial stores in the morning and this cafe seems to be one of the alternative entertainment venues for the well-off in that particular area. however at around 2-4am there are already some ladyboys and women freelancers roaming within the vicinity (from suk 105 - 107) on both sides of the road. there was one funny incident were a pretty ladyboy caught my attention and i jokingly asked him whether the big, bulging thing on his chest is a real thing. before i knew it he immediately pulled her blouse down and asked me to feel it...for which i obliged. told him i'll withdraw money from my atm and get back (which i never did).

well summed up Blade, I think bottom line is that cafes arent a bad resort if you are out of the city, and there is nothing else around, or maybe if you are tired of the local spots and want to see something not "farang- orientated" - but by and large, probably alot better options for the average Tourist.
