farangs is certainly a different thing, but even more so i would call on the bouncers and than let your girl talk with them she will say the right thing to hem in thai, be sure!
this way you will keep your face in front of the thais and the other farang is just looked upon as the bad boy!
never, never fight does not matter wether farang or thai! but your common senses should tell you this already!
the very moment you start fighting you have lost already! nobody has to behave like monkeys as long as he has got a brain and a mouth to talk with!!!

I am not advocating fighting on any level.
I will say that sometimes a person has to stand up and be noticed.
I've had the same thing happened at a Go Go bar where a drunk individual grabbed and gropped the female I was with. But ... instead of throwing down I talked to his friend about it and he appologized and took his friend out of the bar.
But ..... if talk does not work, then a good kick in the ass might!! I would not put up with stuff like that at home and I also won't put up with it elsewhere.
I think we are all in agreement that fighting or confrontations with local people is a no-no!!

I hear ya and do agree with you 99% of the time it's much better to walk away. But ... in my mind there are those 1% of the time where actions will speak louder then words.
Again, I do not think that fighting is the first resort. And should only be considered as a last if all else fails and the incident warrants action.

What you are hearing from most is try to avoid a fight, because the consequences likely outweigh the benefit of redressing the wrong with a punch. Like l said in my first post sometimes it just can't be avoided though. And sometimes you just have to say f_ck it. In the circumstances you describe, doesn't matter, gf or bg, falang or thai guy, big or small, thailand or western country, the guy is going to get tagged by someone at somepoint. Doesn't mean it is the smart or right thing to do.

thanks guys for the info, I'l watch my step for a while as the local boys can be very revengeful. I'l just keep away from MOS for a while. I know it could of got very nasty for me but at the time it was a reflex and when someone charges you, you have to pick them up wrestling style and drive them head first into the ground, my mother taught me that...hahaaha that was a joke boys. some drunk farang bastard grabbin your girl... depends on you... i try to let people know i came to have a good time and not fight...
in general i didn't find that many thugs in bkk, not like LA so not sure why one would need to fight... and your on holiday..fight when you get back home

I pretty much agree with what you guys are saying, and for what it's worth I haven't yet thrown a punch even though there have been a few incidents where people grabbed my girl in a rude way.
I think sometimes you have to defend the honor of your lady, though, and it's not always easy to just walk away. However, if it is a local situation I don't think it's worth getting yourself beaten sillly to defend your honor.. just get out of asap and try to move on...
I do think the rules are different with farangs though, but talking is the first course of action. I honestly believe most of these "gropers" don't really realize what they are actually doing. They are probably the sorts that think every TG is for sale and that they can do whatever they want. A good ass kicking might change those ways. A good tap on the shoulder and quick chat might do the same, I don't know...

I was in the Kangaro Bar one night when a falang walks in. Just from looking at him I knew he was trouble. He was shaven head with t shirt that was open to his navel no sleeves and with lots of tats. He was English bloke drunk and was looking to give the b/g trouble. He speaks Thai and the girls know him. Ms Pen tells me shit he's going to be a hassle and 5 minutes later she jumps up and gets in face and tells him he has to leave or the bouncer's will throw him down the steps. This is going down hill fast and I'm starting to think what should I do. I'm glad it ddn't come to anything but I was just going to sit there and stay out of the way. If a guy grabs a women I with, I'm going to ignore it but I will leave the club. I'm not in Thailand to defend any womens honor. I'm here to have fun and avoid problems.

If a drunk puts his hands on my wife as in grabing her breast or butt, beating him up will not solve anything. If a guy tried to HURT my wife or daughter or a women that I was with then I would deal with him differently. Ms Pen is paid to deal with these bozos and she knows how to defuse this and one of the b/g was ready to hit him with a beer bottle.
