But I would say do not give it at cost, put high taxes on it like alcohol and tobacco. Lets make sure we do not get into the idiocy of lawsuits. Any adult idiot that takes stuff does at its own risk. Problem would be how to make sure companies do not peddle the stuff to young people.

As for the owners "tipping the local tamruat" I hung out with the manager on a few occasions and he mentioned that a few times (that they do contribute).

This "Purity Of Essence" campaign is also affecting things upcountry. My TGF told me yesterday that her dad (pooyaiban) is being required to work this last week with the local police to curb the yaabaa thing up there. Matter of fact, our car was stopped up north last September as the cops were making spot checks for the stuff.
I agree with Sauron's take on how to make the problem go away. Maybe that makes me a libertarian, but the prison-industrial system created by the War on Drugs in the U.S. has done more to undermine the country than the "evil" it tries to eradicate.

Q Bar, Bed supper club and 2 other clubs in Silom Soi 4 was raided Friday.
I'm a distant friend of the owner of Q Bar, and the owner of Bed Supper is one of my best friends. The Hell has just started Folks, if you are into this kind of way of feeling high, DO NOT go out to these places as long as the crusade is going on.
I think also, It could be a smart idea for all of us farang to have our passport on us at any time the next couple of months - with - your visa sorted....
The only REAL valid documentation for your identity is your original passport - if they really want to hassle you - copy is not enough.
