OK sorry folks for the 'dumb and ugly'... I just wanted to say that I am appaled to see guys at discos wearing shorts, a dirty t shirt and sandals. Dressing up just a little bit seems the minimum to me (but I am one of these cheese eating surrendering French monkeys, and dressing up in France is a way of showing consideration for others).
I don't know if paying changes anything, as long as the girl actually enjoys herself (my point is that spending some time with a smiling, laughing and playful girl makes it a much more pleasant experience even for me)
And what about Q-bar ? Women there seem fairly easy, but I cxan't tell whether they think it's fun to hang out with farangs or whether the 600 bahts cover charge is an investment they want to recoup ?

Ok, This happy poster can buy that. Shorts in the daytime, most definately, and I always change t-shirts before going out at night.
Still ugly, selfadmitted, and most others call me dumb, and seriously, if you must dress up a bit, that's really ok too, except it can get very hot on the dancefloor, which may explain why some folks arn't dressed to the nines.

You're right. An unhappy working girl is a drag. And yes my newbie friend, these women are working. The truth is they're probably not there to "make friends" or be impressed by my level of dress, They are w o r k i n g. They come to the bar, which is their office, and m a k e m o n e y by going with men, for "short time" sex. I suppose some guys just take a girl "for fun and hanging out", though payment would still be expected, as the girl is w o r k i n g. The send they're money to their families, and live better than if they were'nt w o r k i n g.
This is the way a disco like Nana works. If the concept is too appalling for you, do not go inside. Stay away. Go to a disco far away from Sukhumvit. And if a Thai women expresses affection towards you, you still have the option of saying no thank you, politely, and walking away. I hope this helps, and sincerly wish you the best, just please don't waste womens time if you don't expect to compensate them for it, because usually 9 out of 10 times she is w o r k i n g.
