Q-bar's not bad, but you're fooling yourself if you think there are non-pros there... it's a full on Angels with better music. A year ago you might meet a 'nice' girl there, but things have changed. Great hard-body waitresses, no doubt about it. Hats off to the Q-Bar service girls!

My take is that is that if you're not slipping some cash into her purse or engaging in a gold bracelet/necklace buying relationship after you take a Q Bar girl home, you're ripping the girl off, 80% of the time. I've taken girls from my office there, and they recognize right away that there are just a few 'nice girls' and a whole pile of girls ready to make a deal. My gut feeling is that even my office girls would be willing to go home with any of the expat farangs, were they to get a little something in return. Of course, for some girls, the chance to have a boyfriend who might take them to a magical farang kingdom is worth the couple thousand baht the other girls are getting... Don't fool yourself, is my basic point. When you push that big black door open and head for a cab with your new friend, a transaction of some sort has almost always begun...
One other point about Q-Bar: What's the fu*king story with all the farang who insist on wearing their pressed shirts and ties until two o'clock in the morning?!? Christ, we know you're all just a bunch of boiler roomers and traders who have already stopped by your apartments after work. Enough of the pretense bulls*hit. Dress down. You might even get a better price on the girl...

this place has survived quite some stressful time, somebody important seemed to be after them, the drinks are great "radioactive ice tea" and they even offer some absinth (not on the menuecard), just ask for it, not the best of its kind, but gives a nice green dream.

- no doubt plenty of "workers" in Q bar, - spoke to some there last week who told me although there was a good % of guys in the place, most of them were like "wood carvings"!!! - which they translated as being to dumb to realise they were available - also a couple of young Guys hit on them, but backed off when they found the girls wanted some $$$ and were not just won over by their good looks - For mine, probably not a bad place to take an "alleged" good girl for a few drinks, but plenty better options if your out to pick one up !

More than this though, now I'm a little confused by the whole 'Good Girl' vs. 'FL' thing especially in a mixed environ. like Q-bar. Suppose once I'm there I'm making what appears to be real progress with a gal who I can't tell is which.
If I talk money i've just insulted the good girl. Right? And then again, if I talk money first and it's a FL I just turned the flirtation-fun-of-the-chase-thing into a cold transaction. Right? And, now (making matters worse)her clock might start ticking, so to speak.
But! If I'm beginning to learn from the board and understand the LOS situation, well then I'd say the best thing I could do is carry on the flirt, take her home, enjoy another fine night in LOS and then slip her the magic 1500 baht next morning.
Wouldn't this be the best solution for all possibilities?
