Anyone still going to Orbit? This thread seems to have died...
Had a fun time last time I was there but haven't had the opportunity to go back for quite a while. A lot of 'my' Orbit gals are at Caribbean now, but are looking to make a move back to Orbit as there's just too much competition at Caribbean. =)

I still go there fairly regularly cos it is just so convenient.
Definitely more farang and less Thais than before. Girls are still gorgeous but arrogant. Never really been into picking up BGs in this sort of place - it is so hit and miss and the girls cant usually go until closing.
Much prefer Forte - girls are nothing like as pretty but a lot more friendly and fun. Still havent made it to Carribean. Sounds like the place will be passe by the time I've got there!!

Ahhh....yes, arrogant dancers. Which reminds me of my first trip to Orbit a year ago with a friend who used to own a bar and trained a lot of the Orbit girls. Had a good time buying them drinks and watching them dance. Afterwards, they all wanted to go eat with us at Rachada so off we went. Big mistake...bill came out to around 6k with just food...was in the loo when the girls ordered the stuff (sushi, jumbo shrimps, crabs, drinks etc). Yes, we were the stuffed pigs when it came time to pay the bill and the girls went on their merry way. My friend had murder in his eyes. That's the last time I bought a drink for any dancer...unless she is wiggling in my lap that is.

Hehheh yes when ever ANY girl wants to eat in Rachada after closing time you SHOULD know that is YOU that pays. I always say I eat already but if you like to eat fine by me. They try to order as many dishes as they can. I wonder if they get %%%%. Always the same "upper class girls" Now I always decline when they like to go there. Just another farrang trap.

Ah, that Pao Kung Phao... if you get the Lobster like JHJ did, it'll set you back big time, I remember the last bill was 8,600 B, and that's after a 20% discount. Apparently one of the TGs had a discount card. Damn! It would have been over 10,000 B!!!

Subsequent to the Pao Kung Pao debacle, I did discover a reasonably priced and excellent seafood option.
If you are coming from Gaysorn Plaza down past the world trade centre towards Pratunam, and then turn left to get to Panthip Plaza, this joint is right at the corner of that turn. (There is another restaurant a few doors further down from it, but that is not half as good.)
There is an aircon area inside, but most of the tables pretty much look out onto the pavement and offer ringside seats to the smoke and exhaust of the traffic.
However the seafood is awesome: nearly all the lobster combinations cost just 1,000B and are substantial portions; their grilled river prawns are great as well.
A happy meal, for sure.
Bangkoksexy, you and Dirty Guru should get your asses down there pronto. Get a table for one. It's kinda romantic

On your trek, in the block between the WTC and restaurant, you passed by a much better deal. The sidewalk along there is cluttered with outdoor eateries, and you can easily bypass the mostly squid and snakehead fish on display, but some have occasional grilled tiger prawns. Every bit as big and tasty as in the restaurant, but at one-fourth the price. If the weather is nice the street scene is even more interesting than being in the restaurant.
