I basicly agree with these statements too, as we disscussed on another thread before. bro's. & sis's. If you absolutely have to do it, you can use methods that dont even look like you've fought the person/s in question. In most cases of drunks they would just find themselfs getting up from the floor and you can be ten paces away. They would just be dumbfounded as to what just happend to them. There are ways people "if you just cant get away from it"...

If you are indeed fighting only one person, (and you've won), it's best to flee the scene (Thai bus/truck driver technique after smashing into a Volvo or whatever).
When the cops get there, they're not going to give you a prize or a flower wreath like after a muay Thai fight, so why stick around?

I am amazed reading all these posts -- and rather uneasy. I have always believed Thailand to be a very friendly country and Thais to be very friendly to foreigners, even the guys. So I find it hard to accept that there could be trouble in the discos. Is it the case that whenever trouble does erupt, a TG is involved? I mean, would anyone misbehave with a farang if he is with his wife ? ( I don't mean Thai wife).

I think Thailand is a lot safer than a lot of places, and usually you have nothing to worry about. If you are hanging out in the nightlife, risks go up, obviously as in any city. And, yes, most fights invariably involve a thai girl in some way, shape or form.
Keep in mind that some thai guys will be jealous of you if you are walking around with one of their hot local women. They will assume she is a whore or that you are just rich. I'm not talking about the average joe on the street, I'm talking about drunk young thais hanging around in a group.
This same thing would apply in 50 other countries so I don't think it is really something to get too worried about.
As I said in my earlier posts, the fights that I've almost gotten in had to do with farangs acting rude to my gf.. none of them even seemed aware that I was there so nothing was directed against me...

That kinda adds up, zzzz, with what I had imagined. Thanks for the confrmation ! I did feel that not just Thai guys, even farang men would make a pass or take liberties with Thai girls, of course for different reasons. The former out of jealousy, and the latter because they think TGs are for everybody, even if one happens to have company. I just think farangs in general have to remember they have to behave themselves -- particularly with Thai girls -- even better than they would behave at home.

I don't think this is specific to BKK, anywhere you have alcohol, loud music, beautiful women, and guys showing off money, there is bound to be posturing and fights will break out. I wonder how far we have really come since this has been going on for ages. In any situation, I just try to keep a cool head, even if someone confronts me, I'll smile, offer them a drink and walk away (I'm 29 and supposedly an adult, the last thing I need is an assault charge on my record - and a black eye since I am such a princess ) and hey, if you walk away, you aren't "winning" but if you stand and fight, you may lose. Remember whoever is disrespecting you or your woman is looking for a fight, so why not frustrate them even more by denying them. - What's the true definition of maso/sadism? The Masochist saying "hurt me" and the Sadist saying "no"
This reminds me of 2 local guys screaming and yelling at each other on Kao-Sarn rd, the more friends got involved to restrain them, the louder they got. One guy was next to a Pad-thai cart, and so the owner of the cart decided to roll the cart away about 5 yds, and as the cart rolled, the cook had to walk along with the cart while still cooking! It was hilarious!! Of course nothing happened as cooler heads prevailed and I went home with a super hottie with a rock hard body, so what did I care?

I agree with all you guys avoiding fights with locals. As for the Farangs there are really guys out there that need some sort of a lesson.
I'm married since 6 years to a very beautiful and sexy Thai Lady and we are very happy together. She is very very annoyed by the hundreds of Farangs that approach her nearly everyday and everywhere with indecent proposals, sometimes very rudely. I experienced it too many times that when I was out with her in a bar or Disco and a drunk ugly Farang touched her or molested her badly. However we both never needed to get involved in a really serious fight for two reasons:
1. I trained her a bit in very efficient self defence. Even for a weak girl it is easy to kick a guy hard into his manhood. My wife is well trained to do that and she doesn't hesitate to defend herself very efficiently. Not one single guy at the receiving end got up from the floor quickly or tried to continue a fight with a girl.
2. I'm lucky enough to be very well trained and very strong; 195cm tall and 116kg of muscles. I train mixed martial arts nearly daily and know very very well how defend myself. Well enough to avoid street or bar fights and concentrate on fighting in the ring. It happens often enough that when a drunken guy is approaching my girlfriend I just have to stand up and make it clear that she is with me. Until now that was always enough and caused any guy to back off immediately.
In short again: The wise thing is not to get involved in fighting. However when a Farang needs to get a lesson it's the most efficient if you show your girl how to do it. And if you absolutely can't avoid to get involved then try your best to finish a fight decisively in no more than 3 seconds; no bad idea to get a lesson in self defence and learn some efficient throws, arm locks, chokes or other joint manipulations that will force your opponent into quick submission without the need for long and wild punching and kicking.

Nice thread revival Spectrum. Brings up some interesting issues.
1) ETOH-Testosterone-Beautiful women. gas and fire in my opinion.
2)"HOLIDAY" mentality, I've seen it a thousand times, take the boy out his home country, anything goes, without a thought to sensibility.
3)Just WOMEN victimized. Don't think so. I'm six foot three, and no slouch, and I can't count the times I've been knocked aside by a drunken bodybuilder type with veins poppin out everywhere. Just sorry my lit cigarrette brushs them as they pass.
4)I've been tempted so many times by idiots, though I agree with Jimmie D here, I'd rather party than "go down" in my old age. Probably why I treat the Katoeys with more respect than is due, and of course keep hands in pockets while doing so!!!!!!!!!!!!!
