Hey Chompoo he gave that DJ somethin he just can't get outta his head. Sad story though. I was told to avoid RCA by a few bargirls. I will heed their advice. Too much X, speed and other such things. Also did not that police man get killed by... Well, I will shut my mouth right now come to think of it!

You know how expensive a beer is in those kinds of places - not to be spilled!!!!
I wouldn't advise anyone to avoid those places, just be careful when picking up. There aren't too many single girls who frequent Thai clubs, and thier boyfriends like to show up un-announced.
This wasn't the only time its happened - also had a group of guys make slicing of the throat jestures at a similiar club. Got to be careful as a farang hunting on Thai turf.....

I spent years managing clubs here, and years as a customer of them and anyone who thinks they shouldn't be careful is a fool.
As a younger man I was the kind of idiot who felt the need to prove myself by getting into fights (I'm a different kind of idiot now). I used to do pretty well for myself but I learned long ago to try to avoid any dispute with Thais and I have had 2 near death experiences to reinforce that.
Thais are plenty capable of violence;I've seen some truly shocking brutality but you needn't take my word for it -- as someone already posted you can read about violence by Thais in any edition of the Bangkok Post.
And as for being a bodybuilder, it might make someone hesitant to take you on in a fair fight but it's my experience that Thais couldn't care less about fairness in a fight and that the more scared they are of you, the more violent thier action against you will be. (I have some scars to prove that.)
One guy I know that was shot in the head by a Thai was shot specifically because the Thai guy was afraid of him but he couldn't let "the insult" go. Far more common were the cases where a group of guys with blunt objects just jump the falang.
I remember one German bodybuilder in Pattaya who learned that all his muscles couldn't stop the group of Thais that bashed his head in. For that matter, another bodybuilder couldn't stop ME from bashing him up and I'm NOT a big guy. I finely sculpted body isn't necessarily going to offer you much protection.

-all too true Mr Joe, but the key is showing some commonsense, I'm sure any bar in the world a display of ignorance can result in a hiding ... lets not forget we are supposedly on about "Sanuk" here, and i stick to my Guns, by and large, RCA is a fun place, and safe ! As to a BG advising against going there, of course they would, reason being, ALL the girls in RCA are younger, prettier, and better educated - drinks are cheaper, e.g. Ice/Breezers etc. 90 bt compared to 150 in Novotel/Nana etc. - as to drugs, a known fact 90% of bar girls, and probably 99% of the ones in Nana disco are on yah bah - the figure would be much lower in RCA, as of course, random testing happens there. At a guess, the place where most farangs have copped a beating in LOS would be in Patpong ... as Mr Joe points out, if you are dumb enough to get involved, dont expect a fair fight ! - as for me Mr.Joe, can not compete with you on the scar's issue - I won my last fight by 100 yards !!

We are in agreement: my post was really in reference to earlier comments thatseemed to suggest that Thais are generally not dangerous and specifically to Fanta's belief that he was somehow immune because he is a 24 yr old bodybuilder.
Actually, Pattaya might have a higher incidence of Falang bashing than the Pong but I'd bet you were right as far as BKK is concerned.

- probably corect again Mr Joe - guess one more reason why Pattaya never really appeals to me, and of course although B.Wills, S.Stallone, J.c Van Damme and co seem to have no probs, I'm sure our body builder would find it a bit more difficult !

Good to see someone with experience willing to put the word out that there CAN be danger.
You're sure right about Thai fairness in fighting.
Allways better to back away, but sometimes a little hard to do when intoxicated, and in the belief that you are in the right. And letting a farang chat up your property is indeed an insult to Thai's - hence the word of caution.

I for one, applaud any farang who is manly enough to stand up to those Thai assholes. Don't let any slight, even if it is just perceived, go without standing up for yourself and the rest of us God fearing white people. Hell, Thai men are so small and scrawny, that you'll probably be able to take on two or three of them with no problem.
Don't thank me, I'm just doing my part to accelerate natural selection and weed out the idiots and assholes.
