I have no dog in this fight, so I will post about some background on RCA = Royal City Avenue.
RCA was developed as a teen hangout area. It first ran into trouble when, during the Banharn Silpa-archa administration, one of Banharn's sons got his ass kicked at a bar or other nightspot in RCA.
Suddenly there was MAJOR police pressure and Interior Ministry attention on RCA and the place was more or less shut down. What followed over several years was a government enforced crackdown on RCA over the age of the patrons (for a while anyway enforced as 20 and up), on drug use by various draconian means, etc. Result is that RCA I think has an older crowd than it used to and a lot of Thais simply go elsewhere. Probably, there has been some extortion applied to the owners/operators by the 'social order' gang.
I think it's a silly-ass place for farang to go. But, whatever.

Chompoo was joking, his post was totally tongue in cheek. But sometimes in cyberspace the bulge in the cheek can't be easily discerned. ABC apparently missed it, easily done as I said, and was outraged at what he took to be a serious post. I suppose by now this has become clear to him.

Cj - a question, when where you last in Route 66 or Morgan bar ?? - these are fun, easy going, in expensive hangouts in RCA that are packed with attractive young girls..... WHY advise people not to go there ?? OK it is not the ideal newbie hangout, but it is SAFE and is an Alternative, especially for the younger/ techno loving guys.
