atypical: i pretty much agree with you on that!
although there will *always* be working girls in the hi-so bars as well. the difference is that many of these women are only for sale to thai men and don't go with farangs. i had this explained to me by my GF when we went to La Lunar one night...

Atypical, not sure I agree with you on the youth,
goodlooks no money concept with the "Elite"
Thai girls, they are in the main money and status
orienated first, the lovely Miss Universe has
demonstarted that and believe me if you check
out the social pages of the Thai mags you will
see countless glam girls marrying rich older men.
Thai girls think they are over the hill when they reach
25 so they always have one eye on the future.
Now that's not to say there is not the odd (very
odd) hympho so desperate for a young western
stud that goes against the grain.

I am not sure if a couple of guys are confusing some terms but if the TG is working as a hair-dresser, saleswoman, etc. and twice a week IS visiting CM2 or the like for a drink and a customer SHE IS a solid Freelancer....so, you are not scoring a normal-working TG....I do NOT mean that a haridresser, saleswoman or any other are NOT normal-working TGs....just saying that if they are going to find a "boyfriend" one night cos they need money or whatever so, they ARE FREELANCERS....
Scoring with a normal working TG demands lot of time. It took me 3 months to hit this saleswoman from MBK and things are going a bit out of control since she really thinks she got a REAL boyfriend....I feel bad sometimes.....
However, ladies working as hair dressers, bank staff, salewswomen, etc. can be found during the weekends either in Thai Pubs (Thonglo, Ekkamai, Mo-Chit, Lad Prao, etc. etc....) or farang pubs (Londoners, Shenaningans, Irish Pubs, etc....). These TGs very seldom pay a visit to CM2, Spasso or Hard Rock Cafe. Why? Cos they know that at these places the freelancers are all over the place and more than once they got a bad experience with a drunk farang requesting them for the price of a long-time....see? My colleagues talk about this very often and always say they recommend the daughters to hit Thai pubs with the Thai friends....I have 4 good Thai female friends (accountant, nurse, travel agent, bank staff) and they always prefer to hang around Sala Daeng and the Irish Pubs and Thai places in Lad Prao, Ekkamai and Thong Lo. When I asked why they have these preferences they said it is because they already got bad experiences at Hard Rock Cafe, CM2 etc.....
I slightly disagree with Supaporn....money can by lots of things....but not everything. In fact, the three TGs we found at La Lunar during your last visit were not very good friends. They were just having fun and two of them were solid freelancers (got they off from Hi-So Night Clubs on that day) but the third one was the owner of the beauty saloon were the other two use to make up. This thrid TG was giving NO hope for a f_ck....she said "....my two friends go with farang. I no sell body...." Now, she is a very good friend of mine.
Likewise, there are quite a few TGs I know that DON'T "sell body" at any cost. They are living quite happy with 10-15K/month and for them a Thai hooker will be always a "BAR-GIRL"....

I think the tag Bar-Girl is firmly associated with
Farangs-Thai Girls, the real volume is Thai-Thai
La Lunar, Orbit, Narcisuss are just Thai equivalents
of Q-Bar, CM2 and Spasso. The final monetary issues
might be more subtle and not easy for us to identify,
ie no cash but some payment in kind but it's there
for sure.

Most women are actually looking for many things at once and "elite" Thai girls are no different (except maybe in the percentages). They are looking for the young, good looking guy with money for a long term relationship, but they'll often eventually settle for any of the two (or even only one) attributes. But until that guy comes along they'll enjoy having fun (whether it is romance or sex) with the young good looking guy with no money.
So in the "elite" clubs the girls aren't going to hook up with a less than handsome guy (farang or otherwise). If the guy has money (or connections) and is a marriage prospect then something may develop. But keep in mind that the vast majority of these girls would choose a Thai over a farang, all other things being equal.
