sure most of the lovly girls in q-bar are freelancers . but there are some "hi-so" girls in there to if you know how to find them i have tg friends in the age of 25-30 whiht alot of money so beatiful most of you would never get close to its just a fact same thing in every country. but how can you think that you can find hi-so girls in q-bar if you are middleaged fat and ugly ?? , now i am not saying that all people on this forum is fat or ugly but alot you are atleast middle aged so of course you cant find the "diamonds" . i¥m 21 works as model in bkk so its easy for me now, but i wont be when i get older ...

Just MO, but I don't think personal protection services is something you want to outsource wherever you go.
I mean, there is the issue of TRUST. There is also the lack of proper training. As a shooter, I feel most local cops don't get nearly enough range time. I guess they don't feel that having cops going through the equavalent of a month's salary at the range each month is practical.
If you're here for the long term, take a couple of green horns from the north OR south and train and coach them yourself (meaning, send them to the martial arts and firearms classes that you choose).
I've come across all ranges of cops from the very competent to the 'no way I'm gonna trust you with my life in your hands' types guarding friends' various facilities.

Very interesting but not altogether surprising input from Master Packripper. FWIW managing bars and discos, I've had a lot of contact with police here and I've also met a wide range from very impressive to not at all.
Also, in my experience, the same may apply to Thai military. I've trained and been freinds with some extremely competent Thai soldiers and a few not. Of course all of this applys to any country though I think here the standard might be less consistent than some places.
Another note on police bodygaurds: sometimes they are most useful as fixers: If they have sufficient rank or the right connections they can keep yopu out of trouble by virtue of that alone. The same might apply to a military man of sufficient rank. (generally, the military wins in a confrontation w/police).

There's only so much that can be said for QBar. Cute website. Decent bar. Going downhill (by some opinions, mine included). If the owners are saving their cash or are obscenely loaded... it might last for a long time (ala Narcissus, LaLunar-Taurus).
