skip, to your list on other venues i will comment as far as I know these places.
Lucifer: Disco on patpong 1 with increasing popularity among BG and semi professional girls. Getting really crowded on some days also in the week!
Morgan: On RCA just right beside Route 66. Nearly same people and music as route 66. But 'loot' as the thais call it is still getting more attention and has the better crowd!
Skunk and the other Ekamai bars: Very trendy crowd hanging around there. Advertising people and the like! Usually not very crowded. Checked it out several times but was always disappointed. Unless you do not come with friends it will be very difficult to enjoy yourself there!
The Khao Sarn Road places: The entire street is getting a revamp right now! Some hip bars and places also very open minded girls to be found! But, the big but, it is still predominantely a backpackers area, so most people and attitudes you will find there are not to everybodys liking!

Thanks very much for the comments.
I wonder then, could the same things be said about the Q-bar crowd as you said about Skunk and the other Ekamai bars? ie "Very trendy crowd hanging around there. Advertising people and the like! and no fun unless you bring party"
And, would they best on only a given night of the week?
Sounds like the Khoa San Rd. is very iffy then, as I can do without the budget scene crowd.
I gotta hit Route 66 and the 'loot' neighbors when I get to town then. Thanks!

ABC, the suit is reserved for blow job bars, such as Star of Light or Kangaroo Bar.
Jeans and T-shirt or polo shirts for other places.
