After a couple of beers (priced 60 Bath) and a couple of pool games at Bamboo Bar (lovely place) me and my thai GF decided to move to Ministry of Sound Bangkok at 00.30
We paid 400 Bath entrance and no free drinks.
I ordered a beer and a Bacardi Breezer 420 Bath
at 01.50 The Dj announced it was all over thx for comin out and see you tommorow............ I don't think so..I ve got a feelin of being ripped 400 bath entrance for 1.5 hour and 210 bath for a Heineken (Singha was 240 aah)
Chance that policy
Bro's got any alternative as I like clubbin?

this place isn't rocking for a bout a year already. no scene anymore, but the prices are still the same when they had the hiso crowd for a couple of weeks at the opening!

Hi Kris,do you check with them if they have a guest DJ spinning that night?Anyway Baht 210 for a bottle of Heiniken is still expensive.I paid Baht 200 for Heiniken at Conrad 87,and i thought that was already very expensive.I didn"t know MOS charge that high as most of the time my local Thai friend will sign me in there and take care of everything.But i don"t really like this place. Try Bed Supperclub at Sukhumvit Soi 11 if you like House music.Heiniken is price at Baht 160.As for cover charge,i think is Baht 400 for 2 drinks.A cheaper alternative will be those clubs at Silom Soi 4 like Tapas and WhiteBar that play House music too.Heiniken is Baht 100 and no cover charge apply.Go on weekend on Friday or Saturday as weekday the scene is very quiet.Cheers!!!

The night before they charged 500Bath that's fine with me because Pete Tong was spinning and a world class DJ like Pete doesn't spin everynight around here so...
but I went on an ordinary friday night and the place wasn't even crowded......wonder why.....
The only change in policy was that one week ago I couldn't get a membercard because I am no resident and I don't have my work permit yet...On friday night they announced on big screens that anyone could apply for a membercard for free that night....I think they are realising that they are up for a change....
Anyway I will check out bed Supper and the Silom Area

Hi Kris,i just went to Silom Soi 4 on Friday to check out the clubs in that area.I was surprised that it was rather quiet there too.There wasn"t a lot of people at Tapas and WhiteBar too.I think you can skip Silom Soi 4 on your check out list.The best thing is to get a copy of BK mag. http://www.asia-city.com that is free fortnightly and do some reading before you head out to party.Cheers!!!

BK, In my opinion the City of Angels is really quiet these days...low season started, SARS wathever ...I will skip Silom for sure because I really hate it when there's nobody around, such a place should be packed with sweating bodies lol...
I wondered if there was anybody out there on this forum who could tell me where right now at this moment the PLACE TO BE is in Bangkok
The BK magazine is a step in the good direction

Hi Kris,perhaps you are right that the party scene are quiet in certain places in Bkk are quiet because of SARS and low seasons. I did went to Narsisuss once on a Saturday at around 11.30pm.I was surprised that it was quiet too.Maybe Anubis can tell us which day of the week is the best to check out Narsisuss? The places that i went that are fill with crowd even on midweek(not to mention weekend)are the pubs in Thonglor Soi 21,one is Kor Tor Mor(this place is feature in May 2- May 15 BK Mag.) and the other one is Song Saleung.This places have local band playing Thai songs and in between is the DJ spinning some really loud Thai songs.The crowd in both places are mainly local Thai.And the local Thai girls there are quite pretty.If you can speak more or less a bit of Thai,maybe you will like these places.Cheers!!!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to go to a local thai discotheque (close to Ramkamhaeng where I live) with my thai GF and her sis. I was suprised in a positive way: there was a damn good local band playin some rock,pop songs, the beer was reasonable priced and for the girls the food was cheap (can you imagine a discotheque in the West where one can order food all night long 555) Even it was midweek the place was packed and every body was seated at long tables(the same ones I saw at Bierfest in Munich) and enjoyed loads of Singha draft beer, now and then people jumped up and went crazy on a well known song or when the DJ started spinning in between the two different bands.
Of course these places are for locals mainly and in that case I was the monkey out there but they are a real relief if you are tired of the 'regular night life'
CM2 is in my opinion no club but a whore-house, was there a couple of weeks ago, paid 330 Bath entrance got one free drink and a bloody awful British band was playin till long after midnight damn what a waste of money
where are the real clubbers out there?
