I don't mind entry fees that are merely coupons for drinks at reasonable prices. It forces you to at least buy two drinks and not just mooch off the venue as not everyone consumes drinks.

Entry fees that include no drinks or are unreasonably priced like 87 Club are not ok to me. But hey, they're free to charge whatever they want, i'll just go somewhere else.
