Does any member had chance to go to the new Forte club. I just miss the opening when I was in bkk last time. Any reviews?

Went there day after opening.
Exactly same dancers as before. With many seemingly new ones (I say seemingly, cuz many are just old ones who had stopped dancing and are now back).
Few PR models now. A younger crowd than at the old Forte. Same band - so same style of music. Better air-condition. Bottles of whiskey now more expensive.
2 small separate bars. Less space for the dancers to dance on them. However, they do circulate between the two bars and do stop to chat with customers much more than what they used to do at the old one in soi 24.
Better lighting of the whole place so easier to see and find people who are 5 meters away.
In terms of overall mood, from that only one visit I liked better the old one -except for the aircon. I asked a few dancers and they all told me the same. However, I have to go a few more times to form a definite opinion.

I split a membership with some buddies a few weeks back, but then I was told the cops cracked down hard. They say that the place now has to close at midnight, has no live music and no dancers. Dunno if the cops are getting greedier or if the owners just don't want to pay.
On a conspiratorial note, I heard that the owners of Club 20 are opening a place on Sukh somewhere and that they hired a bunch of Forte Dancers.
You'd think in this booming economy with soon to be record Mercedes sales there would be enough room for Orbit/Club 20 and Forte to get along.

It has a problem with the license type they have now.
Yes, they are closing at 12 midnight. But they are starting earlier at 7pm. The dancers are still there. They do a show on the stage, but do not dance anymore on the bar. Instead they move around and mingle talking to customers. Difference with PRs is that they do not stay long time with any one customer. They keep circulating.
The advantage is that they are more willing now to go out for some after-work fun; I do not mean p4p, but just classic night out drinking.
I have no clue of any other new place near Sukhumvit bu Club 20 owners. You are not talking about X at La-Lunar? or the new place to open in soi 31? And Zodiac will not open for a while and is not in the Sukhumvit area. These 3 are all a bit different in style and not Club20 related.
Please let us know any other info you have on this new project by Club20 owners.

My understanding is that the licensing is soo convoluted, you're bound to be violating one of them for the cops to nail you on. For example, there's a sign at Song Saleung that says "no dancing" because its techincally a pub and not a discotech. Or its something like, you can have food but no dancing or dancing but no smoking or something silly like that. I assume its just arguing over bribes at the end of the day. I hope its fixed soon as I still got a dozen bottles there.
I'm told that X at the former La-Lunar is by the Orbit folks. I stopped by there once and it seemed dead, but last weekend there seemed to be a lot of cars parked out, but they may have turned it into orbit parking.
I don't know about the new Club20 other than "opening new place on sukh, took a bunch of forte girls". I'll ask though and report back.

The license is given not only to the company that operates the venue, but to the operating name and the location. Thus if you change names or move to a different location your old license is no longer valid. Basically there are four types of licenses. The higher the price, the more things the venue can do.
Forte's -now- missing license at its new location (actually the one they want), in the post-Chuwit era, "could" cost up to 10 million Baht. This, being all legal. The bribe part comes into play on other aspects -you want to do things and do not have the license, or you have it, but still have to pay to make sure they do not annoy you.
X-La Lunar and Orbit don't below to the same owners. However they have family links (same grand-father). Thus the reason for so much friendliness between the two (they do not hire staff away from each other, etc.).
Yes, Monk please let us know of that new club20 location when you find out.

Here's what I heard on Club20. The ratchada location is actually owned by the hotel nearby and the lease was not renewed. Thus Club20 has to move "end of the yearish" to a location in sukh 1X. One of the odd numbers, 13 or 15 or something like that. Rumor has it that the hotel wanted some of the club action and will probably open a place of its own in club20's place.
So did the forte guys not buy a license for the new place?

I have heard the same info, that X club and Orbit has different owners,. We were in Exotica last week for a private party, they have move most of the dancers from club 20 to dance in exotica for this party ( as they have the same owners). According to my friend, club 20's revenue has been declining in recent months and contributing to the decision to move the club to somewhere else.

I am not so sure that club20 and Exotica have the same owners -at least as of a few months ago. But they are buddies -the former girlfriend of the owner of one of the clubs is the sister (real) of the girlfriend of the owner of the other. At the very least they partied together. Now, this info is a few months old (since I stopped seeing one of the girls  ). Maybe now they have gone a step beyond in their friendship and have crossed shareholdings.
Some of the girls dancing at Exotica come also from Forte -from among those who left in July when there was a management shake-up in the dancer's team.
