OK - let me shoot 1st be4 the flame-throwers get an itchy finger. I searched on the forum for Q Bar threads but couldn't find one; I quite like the look of this joint and seen some stunners in their photo page.
Anyone has experience of this bar? Does anyone use it as a pick up place? What is the etiquette with babes in there?

I just found 5 threads in the "Night Clubs, Clubs, Discos" section about Q bar that have the name of the place in the title of the thread.

As I said... there are at least 4 more.
Anyway.... weekdays... I think you do not have to pay the cover charge. At least I didn't have to when I went there last night. So... mysuggestion is just jump and go and check the place.
Tonight there is a big formal party somewhere in town  and I know some people all dressed up will go there afterwards (no, I am not going myself).

Has everyone from frree lancers to members of the Royal Family, freelancers not encouraged much these days. Hi So's, wannabee Hi So's, names, faces, katoeys and hookkers, they are all there.
400B to enter gets you two drinks, though it could be different on certain days of the week that I've not been on. Get's very packed on Friday / Saturday.
Sunday night is hip hop night.
VoBKa is the specialty drink there, have a huge fridge full of many types, and a temp gauge shoing how cold it's kept. Good place to meet girls, but expect to be buying the drinks. Beer 170B a bottle as I remember.
Ahhh...hell...offer any girl 500B in there...you could just get lucky, but you are more likely to get bruised.

First QBar was in Saigon I believe, owned by an American guy who's name escapes me but is a friend of my former boss in BKK.
ManuelBKK should be able to contribute a fair bit more than I.

I was dissapointed last night to still see many freelancers. At least I saw 3 that I knew previously from other places... and I din't bother checking for others.
Yes, first it was in Saigon. 2 partners. I know of one of them who is married to into good hi-so Thai family. I do not know him, but know the family.
And yes, I also agree with Yurune as I think Manuel-bkk is our resident expert on Q.

I've read on related thread that you get techno music; on which day of the week? I hope it is not of the ear splitting variety one gets in other joints.
From the tone of some members' posts I gather that the place it is not place high their list. Looks good on the web, though.
