this might sound odd, but I would like some info on RCA, having been to bkk 3 times I found it hard to leave the usual haunts, cowboy, nana and patpong (in that order) caqn anyone enlighten me on the hotspots or a thread with the info I require

Before you get the usual UTFSE, try using the search engine (good start is to selectt Bars in the "Search in" space, then RCA left slot!). There is a lot of mentions on RCA but basically it is for young highly mobile Thais!

RCA is a place where middle class Thai teenagers and e.g. international school students often hang out to either show off their new mobile phones/cars or to find some new friend for intimate moments. One of the best places for young guys to find decent and great looking Thai girls. However, you "buy" them with your charme and look and not with money (well, at least on the first evening). Loud music, overcrowed clubs and Thai groups make it a bit difficult to spot the right one in the mass. Knowledge of Thai language definitely big plus.

I live in a nice condo by RCA-There isn't many farangs if any, lotsa karoke and drunk thai dudes.I walk through the area alot on my way home, never had anybody hastle me or even give me much notice which is unusual to me.There are some MP's around, one behind 7-11 just past rca off petchburi-tad-mai seems popular-Seens some hot looking women around but havn't checked it out myself.Need to speak Thai if you wanna party in the RCA area-Nice condos for long-term stay close-by, PM me if you want some specifics on the condos.

RCA is just the place where the golden young thais hang out. Used to be young ppl there but now, you must be at least 21 to get in there (ID verif). Good puv=bs like Morgan or Route66 but VERY loud music and ONLY thais. Totally different ambiance than in NEP,...
Good disco as well such as Lucil (the sister disco of Lucifer in Patpong). It's good places to see the girls moving their ass on the music. Bottles are around 1, 200 + mixers. 2am everthing close, as everywhere.
If you go there, just specify to the taxi that you want to go to RCA Pectburi or Rama 9 (param kao in thai). If not, the taxi might bring you to RCA2 or RCA3. lol
Many MP nearby. The closest is the LoveBoat next to Radisson HoteL.

As Jeff said, the music is indeed very loud, and I'd like to add, very bouncy and irritating. The sort of bastard techno crap (saying that as someone who likes good electronic music) that should be used exclusively by well sound proofed aerobics studios.
Does get the little hot things bouncing though, so... go figure. RCA - the only place in the world where you will still hear Stretch&Vern's "Get Up" every single night.
Also second Jeff's recommendation of Lucille, decent place, very big though so if there's not enough people (on most weekdays there aren't), it feels empty. Better music, older clientele, better decor. Then there's the new Kinetic, which I haven't had the chance to visit yet.
