was at q bar last night, first time since my last trip couple of months ago, wow upstairs is all completely different now
the stairs have been moved to the side, and upstairs is all huge spacious areas, lots of glass and leather etc, very nice too
but I still prefer my usual spot at the bar downstairs where I can keep my eyes open for new recruits entering
open as usual during mourning too

all bars are open as far as I can tell, just aren't playing the music loud or raising a lot of hell, like the ones behind where I stay usually do

How is the energy on a typical mid-week night at QBar? I was thinking of stopping in Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday next week. After 22 visits to BKK I want to check out this place. Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.

I was there a few weeks ago on a friday night and not busy at all... I walked in the door and there was a place probably 3-4 meter's square that was EMPTY.
On a friday night at 1200-1230 that's quite odd.
I have been there a few other times and it was more busy, but with the economy it is a sign of the times. I would recommend going there for a DJ and not the crowd.

I will have to check out Q bar next month, as one of the main reason I stopped going there when I was visiting BKK was that it was always way too crowded.
The other was that I felt the attitude of the women there wasn't what it was back in 2003-04, when I was picked up by this absolutely gorgeous little TG on New Years Eve who drove me all around BKK in her Lexus to one place or another until the sun came up and we ended up back at her place having sex in her room while her friends (who were in tow) were passed out in the living room. We spent the next three days together until she suddenly saw some old boyfriend at Hard Rock and without much more than a goodbye, walked away. I was admittedly a little stunned, but not entirely disappointed, as I was ready to move on, despite her having one of the cutest asses I have had. Perhaps I should have offered her some money at some point? Ah well. I still have one of her belts, don't ask me why, call me sentimental.
Anyhow, I obviously have fond memories of Q bar, but I became tired of the crowds and what I perceived to be a hardened attitude among the girls, and I suppose a sense that the kind of thing I described above was less likely to happen again
But it sounds like I should at least pay a visit...
