From what I saw, there is not much freelance action. Meaning, you can not see many females like in Bangkok or Pattaya walking around.
Ko Samui tends to be a "couple's" vacation spot. Most of the people I saw were coupled off.
But, there did look like some bar intown though.
My suggestion if you are going to Ko Samui, is to find a female in Bangkok or Patayya and then take her with you.

U can pick up girls in "Reggay pub","Green mango","Full Circle" etc.Also is some bars on Chaveng beach.If you nice/young they going for free,if you more older jentelmen I suppose low prices -about 1000 Bath.
You can also try beach parties like:"half moon party","black moon party","Freedom party" etc.It will be tracks going back and forth day-or two before the party with advertisments.Good luck.

chaweng beach is indeed a couples place, allthough there are some discos and beer bars where you can find tg action, the main area for this sort is lamai and not chaweng.
lamai is a village south to chaweng and is less touristy and more local with more unspoiled beaches. lot of beer bars and an after hour vdisco called "the bauhaus". as rami stated most girls will go for free if they like you, some go for bucks but usually never more thanthb 500-1000, unless you are really old or shitty looking.
in my opinion better try lamai then chaweng for nightlife!

Griffin,i've spent on island enough time to tell that Lamai is too quite for night action.It can be nice going there and visiting by day,but nothing can be comparable to Chaveng beach at night.Just my opinion.

i just like it quite and thai style but you are right if you wnat more disco music and other stuff chaweng is the betrter choice. i am going to samui for 12 years now, may be this also my old fashioned habbit to hang out in lamai!

I juts got back from samui and chewang beach is the best for night time actions. There is Oneil's sports bar at the end of Chewang strip and that club is packed with cutie TG and ready for anything. Also there is another beer garden right across Imperial Central and I saw about 10 to 15 working girls hanging out there every night
