hey guys...
as the name indicates i have never been to LOS...and planning to do so in spring of 2004...yeah i know its long time from now..but it cant hurt to get ready early...
anyways...i have read numerous posts and searched through the site...and now i have all the info i need regarding nightlife in bangkok and pattaya...
but i also wanted to stay at some sort of resort that has a beach front room(or bungalo) with clean water(ocean)...and be somewhat remote and quiet...
for this..i dont expect to barfine anyone in that kinda surrounding...and i think most likely ill be bringing my own company along anyways...
so...i was searching...and found koh samet to be the best candidate...and to my surprise...someone in the forum posts that koh samet got very dirty and he will never go back!!!
is there any other place like what i have described???...that is clean and remote...
and of course cheaper the better...but im willing to spend up to 2-3000baht/night for a beach front room for 2-3 days...

from what i have read...cha am seems to be the best alternative...and i see few of bros r going there...or been there already...
is cha am an island??...or just beach???
and why is it so cheap??...anything wrong with it??...i hope its not cheap because of dirty ocean...hahaha
man...cant wait till i relax on the beach just getting suntanned...

cha-am is just a beach. next door is hua hin.
koh samet, white beach wasn't dirty. try sai kaew resort bungalows. nice and relaxing. order a special tequila at johnie's bar.... I don't really wan to post what you get for it.

Brother NBBKK the beach at Cha Am is very clean and the water is warm. The reason it's inexpensive is because it mainly caters to Thais so the prices are geared mostly for Thai visitors, and that reminds me of something. Not once do I recall being charged any kind of foreigner surcharge or any thing like that. Everything was the same price no matter who you were, CHEAP  . Also because it's only 2 hours away if you should need to get back to BKK in a hurry for whatever reason you're only a quick bus ride away. No boats back to the mainland, no planes or trains either. Give it some thought. Peace

As mentioned a few times, Cha Am gets my vote, no too many tourists, cheap bungalows, Scandi resort worth a look, about 500bt a night, on the beach front next to gem hotel - plenty of field reports on the forum also -
