Yep, it is a bit hard to describe let alone find.
I am sure a conveyance driver will help in the discovery process and I imagine most regular punters at Steve's would be able to describe/take/or offer other guidance on the merits, grid reference and general locality of the Bamboo bar.

The only "regulars" I might have seen at Steve's were three fat (and one painfully thin) Germans swilling Carlberg drafts at an alarming rate.

Steve's wife is very nice to sit and talk with. For us old Air Force guys, she remembers the days when we were there in mass numbers and she can help point out places and people to our old fogged up memories.

Harry's bar on the ring road (bit of way out of town, nearest landmark Tesco Lotus) has take out.
Piano bar across the road from Steve's expensive and there is a big Go Go somewhere near, I think called Wolverine but not been in or see it yet.

I saw Harry's on the way in, and you're right, it's not at all central to town to put it mildly. It looked like a decent place though, but a bit dead in the early afternoon. We were past it too fast to put an eye to any of the talent there.
I did try to pump Fon at Steve's for info about trouble at Mister Tong's. She says it has all centered on fights between farang and aggressive local ladyboys.

Harry's - Food OK and Harry has the local gen on golf, never really rocks but a handful of BG's usually there for take out, early evening is your best bet, if it does not go to plan you can eat and still have time to get back into town with or without your TO.
I think the trouble at Tong's stems from Tong himself who has declared that he does not like farangs (independently reported by several bar hoppers), not heard anythng about aggressive LB's and the incidents I referred too seem to bear this out. The bottling incident was down to women and the severe beating one customer got was down to the staff or Tong's cronies, who would not have done it without Tong's permission. Anyway whatever the truth I for one will find other sources of entertainment.
